I don't hate it long, I can reach the zipper and get into the bag but it would be nice just a couple inches higher on my hip I think. I got my new summer handbag&nbsp;the day after I ordered it&nbsp;and decided to it to use right away. We went to a really fun outdoor premiere of a television show&nbsp;that highlights local tourist destinations.&nbsp;The restaurant/bar overlooks the lake and they had a big screen set up along with some great local musicians. </p> <p>Back to the bag, I hope it's okay because it's mine now. lol. Seriously, I like it a lot and it makes me think of the beach with it's light sand tones and casual vibe. It's a little larger than I imagined but very light weight and roomy so I don't get frustrated trying to get things in/out. And yes, the strap is a little long - I'm going to have the leather guy do his magic and shorten it&nbsp;I think&nbsp;as this is as "short" as the current design allows. Some people say they tie a "knot" in the strap but I've never tried that.
