Very different construction from what I expected. </p> <p>1) when you get your kit, if you don't have a serger, it looks like there will be an unfinished seam edge for the inside of the dart at the chin. While it is on the inside, it is open at the bottom for inserting a filter, so you might want to reinforce it by zig zagging the seam allowance after you straight stitch it. I don't like raw edges on anything that will get washed a lot. An fancier straight stitch alternative is to make a french seam<br /><a rel="nofollow" href="https://patternscissorscloth.com/2010/04/23/tricks-of-the-trade-french-seam-a-dart/">https://patternscissorscloth.c.....am-a-dart/</a><br />but be very careful as the seam allowances on this look tiny.</p> <p>2) Tiny seam allowance also make you need to be very careful when you are finishing the open bottom edge hem to avoid it being too small. If you don't have a lot of experience sewing, you might want to practice the two- step narrow hem (I think she calls it rolled, but it is not, technically) she demonstrates, on a scrap of old sheet or woven shirt. Iron and/or pinning and sewing very slowly help. Sad to tuck it in the back of the closet because the vibe is just right for me! </p> <p>I find that if my glasses sit over the mask, it helps reduce/eliminate fogging. There seems to be a little sweet spot where the glasses sit on the mask that helps keep it in place and also keeps my breath from coming up into the glasses.
