Sveta number 4 is just blowing me away! And I loved reading your thoughts on getting tired of a particular silhouette. You are NOT getting more frumpy. I think your style and taste are just evolving.

I didn't read all of the comments carefully, but did anyone suggest using Rit Dye's Color Remover packet? It's made for situations just like yours. Good luck, and don't give up on your white shirt! I can relate to your distress, though, remember when I thought my white skinnies were ruined? That is a terrible feeling! You will get the red out one way or another.

Sveta, you have such fabulous style! All you outfits are great, but I also like the last two the best. I hope you can get the red dye out of your shirt.
Once upon a time in my childhood, we wore detachable white collars and cuffs to give the look of a white shirt or blouse underneath. Maybe your mom can make something like that for you out of an old white shirt to wear with the red dress. Nowdays velcro would make attaching them extra easy.

Sveta, your style is anything but frumpy. That's the LAST word that comes to mind when I see your outfits (and particularly when I met you in person.) I have not seen you in an outfit that was not polished and *incredibly* well fitting, which is a huge inspiration to me to hold out for an item that is really perfect rather than making do with semi-poor fit.

I think it's just a shift in your style. You've rocked skinnies very well for a long time, but it sounds like you're craving a different silhouette. And you look stunning in your bootcuts too.

Shame about the red dress causing stains on your white blouse! I'm curious about the eggshell method. I've never tried it before, but I came across this post on Pinterest that mentions some stain-removing recipes that may be worth a look: http://www.picklee.com/2012/04.....4isz9WlfNI

The first dress is very structured and tailored and not at all juvenile, I really like that shape on you. You are also one of the only people I've seen where I have liked the dress over skinnies look. You do it so well! Such a great eye for cuts and colours.

I'm swooning over all of them! The striped dress is not too juvinile! It's very cool and funky. I adore that red dress, can you wear a slip or something to line it to protect anything g you layer underneath?

Sveta, your last two outfits are so perfect I am passing out.

Okay, sitting back up, I love the others as well - I like the dress over skinnies. I am TOTALLY in love with my skinnies, but I'm also the opposite body type of you and feel stumpy in bootcuts. I do not think that first dress is too juvenile at all but it is a good candidate to wear over skinnies!

I do see what you mean about the striped dress in #1, especially when I compare it to the two new Chicago dresses, or that red dress. But, it's not a bad dress in the least, just maybe not where you are headed, style-wise? With #2, I wonder about using a solid shoe or bootie with that outfit, maybe that's what you were thinking? Then you remove the tan and the pattern from the picture, and get something a bit more streamlined. Very sad about the white shirt! Maybe some of these remedies will work their magic! #4 and #5 are impeccable, perfect, perfection :).

You look so great in dresses, Sveta! The red-with-shirt and black polka-dot outfits are my favourites. Also LOVE the combination of stripes in #1.

Pity about the white shirt, but like Zap says, if it can't be rescued it is already ruined, yes? So maybe let the water go to whatever's the hottest setting you wash it on during laundry?

I like your idea of letting the water and eggshells boil for a while, then letting it soak. I have done the plain boiling and never had a problem, but it has been mostly on cotton items, with no stretch. Plus, I'm like a "no fear' type of gal. I figure the item is already ruined....
I think Shannon had a similar problem and I think she was able to get the dye off by simply soaking on detergent overnight.

I shrank my martins in the wash too... but then I discovered that they had an inch of hem allowance at the bottom, so I just let it out and they are perfect again. (The raw fabric edge is actually serged so it won't unravel, so you only need to fold up a tiny bit for a new hem or even leave it unhemmed for a more RATE look.)

I wore dresses 4 days out of 5 - I guess I was on the rebellious streak at work (as you know most of my co-workers are men in baggy jeans and golf shirts)

pic 1: Looking at this picture I began to think that maybe it is time to retire this striped dress. Does it look too "juvenile" on 44-year old me?

grey striped A-line dress my Mom), silk red-purple button down (BR), Franco Sarto grey tall boots

pic 2: I had bad idea to wash these grey Martin skinnies last year even though the label says "dry clean". The first wash was OK but they shrunk a bit after the second wash. Now I only feel comfortable wearing them with tunics Now looking at the picture I wonder if I have too many colors going on: black, cobalt, white, tan, grey... What do you think?

Martin grey skinny trousers (BR), cobalt blue - black color blocked tunic (Michael Kors), David Tate animal booties, polka don black and white silk scarf from Paris

pic 3: another attempt to wear the red dress. Angie inspired me to use white button down ta add another dimensions to my outfits and I tried it here too. I liked how it turned out...until I undressed in the evening: red dye came off to the white shirt under arms - and I was not even sweating. The quality of this dress's fabric is not that great, I think I will retire it soon even though I adore the color. Now I have to look for a new white shirt as this one can be worn layered only now :-(

red mod dress (my Mom), faded black leans (Gap), white shirt (Tahari), old Clarks tallboots in tan.

pic 4. This was a business casual day at work so I decided to wear my polka dot dress and blazer. This turned up as a pretty conservative outfit I think but I am OK with it. Actually I wear this type of outfits so seldom that they feel fresh to my eye :-)

black and white polka dot dress (Jones New York), black blazer (thrifted), red patent pumps (Mee Too), necklace from a local boutique)

pic 5: I bought this scarf from a street vendor in Paris and decided to build an outfit around it. To continue black and kelly green theme I selected my black sequin top which I layered over a thin merino wool long sleeve tee.

Paige Hidden Hills bootcuts, sequin black top (Winners), grey flat oxfords (Trouve)

I found that I am drawn to skinnies less than before. They were my go-to uniform since I joined YLF 2 years ago and believed Angie that a pearish bottom like mine can still wear skinnies. I still think they are a great winter staple for me when tucked into tall boots and worn with a tunic length top but when I am not wearing boots I drift towards flares, bootcuts and wide leg trousers. Somehow tight fitting tights are not appealing to me anymore. Maybe I am getting older and frumpier? Or maybe I just need a change?

Thanks for looking and hope you have a great weekend!
