Janet, I really like your layered outfit. I have found, via trial and error, that layers of thinner clothing work better for me, too. One can always remove an item or two but with thicker, heavy layers, sometimes you can get too hot (especially indoors) because you are overdressed and can't remove anything! Or on public transportation...it can get hotter than hades when all those warmly bundled folks huddle together!

You look terrific. Thin layers work well, too, as they trap body heat between each layer. When its really cold (like, er, now), those of us in the frozen tundra use multiple thick heavy layers.

Here's hoping Alaska takes back its weather soon!!

You look great! I really like the pop from the leopard scarf.

Ha, Una, J. has his weather app on his iphone set up to show weather from all the different places he's lived in the last few years, including Anchorage. It's always a fun game to try to guess where is the coldest. It's surprisingly often NOT Anchorage. (He also has Boston, MA; Ann Arbor, MI; Oxford, England. Oh, and LA, because we go there a lot even though he has never lived there.)

You look sleek yet cozy! I love how the animal-print scarf adds a note of glamour.

I think I'm in the same general region as you and I have to admit that I was so chicken about having to go outside in this cold that I ended up working from home today.

Record-breaking cold here! Dressing with thin but warm layers seems to work for me better than a single heavy item. BCBG tee, Madewell v-neck sweater, and Bordeaux topper with WH/BM scarf, Paige skinnies and the Ugg Cortonas. I wanted to wear the Ash sneakers today but these are warmer!
