I've only been running for the past two months. My brother is a big time runner and runs a full marathon once a year. He talked me and our youngest sister into doing the half. I've never been to Niagara Falls but I bet a run near there would be amazing.</p> <p>KathyL - good luck to you also! When is your run? How's your training going? It's amazing how great it feels at the end of the race as you head over the finish line. I have no desire to do a full marathon, but I plan to keeping running at least one half marathon a year...maybe even two! </p> <p>I did have one of the biggest blisters I've ever had on the side of my foot and I have three days of formal business wear in front of me. I'm not looking forward to putting on real shoes!!! But overall I'm feeling great today and not sore at all. You look great! Congratulations!</p> <p>There are two things I like about running halves: if the race is in a big city, you get nice crowd support. If the race is in a beautiful outdoorsy location, you get gorgeous views.</p> <p>The view looks breathtaking! I am running a half in a month, and it also goes along a lake (not as gorgeous as yours, but still nice). Picture 1 is my gear and hardware (the medal!). Picture 2 is why I do this run. The entire race goes around Lake Chelan in Central Washington state. One of my absolute favorite places to be! Picture 3 is my own personal cheering section. Although his favorite part is sneaking some of the treats that are meant for the runners. </p> <p>Whew - feels great to be done. A little disappointed that I didn't meet my goal pace but I did shave a fair amount off my time. Incentive to do it again next year! </p>
