My actual birthday is in a week. I did wear the Madewell top for the family celebration. (No pic.) My SIL, the only one who remotely cares about clothes, liked it a lot. I will probably wear it again this week to work. </p> <p>Angie, I love getting shoe recs from you and the others here. I need my shoes to be comfy, and the reviews save me time! I just ordered some tall boots from DSW, and I settled for lower quality than I wanted and it’s just not working for me. (Fake leather that looks a little too fake.) I’m spoiled now! I may order a similar style that costs more. It’s worth it for boots, though. They are Euro Soft vs Sofft, so the same company, hence the similarity in style. </p> <p>Suz, I am drawn to patterns like that, probably for the reasons you say. I haven’t analyzed the reasons, though. NYC has been about 60-70 F and mostly sunny during the past couple of weeks. It’s been great weather for layering some of my warm weather pieces with Fall pieces. My office is cold, so that’s a factor as well. </p> <p>If any of you have been following back back injury saga, the good news is that I’ve recovered enough that most of my shoes don’t cause pain (though it helps if I can add insoles for extra arch support). I’ve already put aside or culled ones that aren’t currently working.</p> <p>The less good news is that while my back is better, the hip on the injured side is weak and gets tired by the end of a day’s walking. I find the sacroiliac belt to be more helpful now, as a result. I have two. One is very unformotable and causes major issues with muffin top and needing to pee, but it’s more effective. The other is better for day to day use because it’s more comfortable, but there is still some muffin top that I’m dressing to minimize. Thankfully, it’s later season!</p> <p>These are all work outfits. I wore #4 to one of my evening events at the Met Museum. #7 is today’s outfit - I am traveling by bus tonight, so I wanted to be comfortable. (Those are the Born booties from NAS, my first wearing since I’ll be upstate this weekend - it’s a bit cooler there.)</p> <p>Two quick reviews! I got this Madewell top-my first EVER purchase from them. They’re usually a bit muted in palette for me, plus other items I’ve tried have seemed to be cut for a younger body. This blouse runs a br big but is stunning in person. I will wear it for a triple birthday party this weekend - for me my MIL, my BIL and me (birthdays are all within a one month span and we are celebrating together, since MIL turned the big 7-0). Anyway, the blouse fits my current style mood, which is sort of a polished, lite boho. </p> <p>I also got these Naturalizer booties Angie rec’d, in the bone color. They are as beautiful and comfortable as you’d expect from this brand. I have yet to wear them out, but with my insoles they should work for me. I hope to wear them with bootcuts, and I’ll have to see how they are with some dresses I ordered. </p>
