These are all fantastic on you, Dee. I love the J. Crew leaf print but I am especially taken with the Gap dress. The print is sophisticated and simple yet it is the kind of dress you can throw on. The necklace adds a really fun touch.

Angie, thank you! I'm always excited to wear something other than jeans but dresses are hard to find/fit.

Karin, thank you!

Diana, that's why I asked for suggestions the other day and got some good ones from Astrid, Inge and a few others! The Gap dress is the one with the twisty back. I actually asked the salesperson if it was supposed to be reversible and he gave me the strangest look! I tried it on backwards just to check but it's a little too low on the chest to be wearable that way. I often have fit issues in the hips but this one is cut very generously. Mine fits well up too but I still have room in the hips. And despite the fact that I've put on weight this winter, I bought my old size, so consider sizing down or trying both sizes. The one thing is the tag says dry clean only. Which I found weird for all cotton, so I haven't decided whether to just try hand washing it yet.

All of these look great, Dee! I am also a big fan of natural fiber dresses in the summer, and it's a perennial HEWI for me.

Is the Gap dress the one with the twisty bit in the back? I saw it in the store the other day and was really confused because I thought the twist was supposed to be in the front but it was really low... it made so much more sense when I figured out it is supposed to be in the back! I might have to go back and try it on, although Gap's shifts tend to be too big on the top and too small in the hips for me.

These dresses are gorgeous on you! The last one doesn't look tight at all. Summer dresses in natural fibers are the way to go.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on the necklace! Glad you think it doesn't look too much. And that the third dress isn't too snug. After trying on my summer items recently and finding many too tight, I'm a little paranoid...

Ledonna, thank you for the compliment! And I completely agree with you and Caro that natural fibers are the way to go, especially in hot and humid summers.

Isabel, I had the shoulders in the third dress taken up a bit, but the body fit surprisingly well off the rack. But I'm petite and often have neckline issues. The others are off the rack.

Wind chime, I end up running up escalators more often than I'd like, but that's not a very high bar. I'll just have to be careful in that dress.

You really wear dresses well! The first one looks like it drapes beautifully on you--hopefully you won't need to run up and down escalators in it too often! I see why the Gap dress is your new favorite; it's an attractive print. It's fun with the yellow. Number three doesn't look tight to my eye. Nice assortment of footwear, too!

These are all nice Dee. I really like the shape of the first one on you, it looks like it falls just perfectly and the shoulder line is really nice too. I like your sandals with this too, the neutral shoe with the bolder dress looks very sophisticated.
The second is also great and the third as well. You really have an eye for interesting but highly wearable prints. Did you have these altered? It seems like they all fit you just right, especially at some of the most difficult places, like the shoulders and the bodice of the third one.

I mentioned in my last post that I like to wear dresses in the heat and have been searching for non-polyester options. I put on some weight over the winter and all of my casual jersey dresses from seasons past aren't fitting as well as I'd like (or fitting too well?), so I'm on the hunt for 4-5 casual dresses that I can wear this summer. Here's a few recent WIWs with what I have so far:

Outfit 1: Worn to work on a day I knew I wouldn't be spending time in the lab. This is a recent purchase from JCrew. It's a woven linen-blend that has enough weight to drape well but still isn't overly hot. The dress managed the sit down test but is only barely passing the "running up/down the escalator" test.
JCrew dress, Cobb Hill sandals.

Outfit 2: Worn to a brewery tour with DH, followed by some time hanging out outside. My second dress purchase of the season, from the Gap. It's 100% woven cotton and has a low-cut back (which I forgot to get a picture of!) and is my new favorite. I liked the yellow necklace when I grabbed it but not too sure seeing the pictures.
Gap dress, softspots shoes, MK bag.

Outfit 3: Worn out to a theatre event with a friend. This dress I'd put up for K/R last summer because it was a bit pricey, but it was also made of cotton and made in Canada. This is actually the first time I wore it! It's a little snugger than it was last year but hopefully still acceptable? Added the jacket in case it was too cold but didn't end up needing it.
Dress from local boutique, Halogen jacket, Winners shoes.

Thanks for looking and suggestions/comments are welcome!
