Nonetheless, I love the bottom half of the outfit and I definitely count this one as a learning experience, as Suz very astutely points out! </p> <p>I also realized later in the day that I could have done a more faithful interpretation with one of my two "vintage" midi skirts, but I hadn't pulled them out of their summer storage closet for winter yet, so I forgot about them. But the rest of the copycat effort failed miserably. Ran out of time so threw this together, and I fear that shows.</p> <p>My animal print skirt, I now know, is solely a summer, no-hosiery garment. It stuck horribly to my tights, and a slip only made it worse as it all bunched up in a mess. Couldn't tear it all off fast enough. </p> <p>So I went with this multicolor pencil skirt, threw on a black tee and realized my trendy mega sale mesh sweater went with it and added a casual edge. Threw on the scarf i could find that went with it all, and hoped for the best. I know this is not the most figure-flattering look on me, but I think it actually looks better IRL because you can see I have a waist through the mesh sweater. The photo really doesn't give that impression.</p> <p>At least I got to wear my butterfly wing ring.</p> <p>Give it to me straight. How bad is it? </p>
