I did want a high shaft to layer under cropped pants, though. </p> <p>While searching, I stumbled over these boots at DSW, and the have a decent heel, but but nothing I can't handle. And the shaft is high enough to go under crops. They are less dressy than the other types of velvet boots would be, but I'll get more use out of these. They're not the most comfortable boots in the world, since they lack padding. The length currently is almost to the floor with my low heeled booties. I wasn’t sure I’d like that, but it was cool and a nice change from my winter uniform of jeans tucked into tall or mid heeled boots, due to the weather (see #3). Usually topped with a pullover. </p> <p>I wore #4 to the holiday party at work, which had a late 60’s theme (long story). </p> <p>I had pics of an outfit with my velvet combat boots, but I seem to have deleted them. Alas! I am posting the find, but the colors are prettier in person. </p>
