Thanks Thimblelina! No 'soccer mom' vibe, no... ;)

Thanks Jackie! I don't wear heels at all, so all my skirts get worn with flats only. And I love the look! I wore more crazily patterned and colored tights in the past, but I've toned that down. Which is a good thing I think. I think as long as you don't wear a skirt made out of dressy or office appropriate material they can be just as casual as jeans. Mine are wool and cotton blends.

Cute look. Really like the patterned tights! Sometimes I would tuck under the tie bits of the shirt, but I think you said you've already done that. I really like how you wear your skirt outfits and make them casual and wearable, kWIM? I think I just don't wear skirts b/c they always seem so dressy (on me). Like in your post about walking around the city, you looked so fab too. I need to use this as inspiration - ie the cool patterned tights with walkable shoes. Well done

Cute! (That happens to me with cuts too... At least you can't look 'soccer mom.' But layers are always the answer for me, more and deeper than I would have imagined.)

Thanks. I asked some hairquestions a while ago, here's the thread again for anyone who's interested. I have tried a lot of things already over the years. I've even been an active part of a forum just about hair stuff when I was growing out my hair. That was before YLF. So I don't think this is so easily solved with just care and product. Oh and I don't have thick hair, even though it might look that way. You don't get much of a ponytail or braid when you put all my hair into one.

Cute outfit. I think you just need to play with product for your hair Such a lovely color and curl and thickness others would kill for. I think there are threads regarding curly hair. I remcall modgrl shampoos with conditioner only routine to keep her curls soft and curly.

Yes, that's true. I'll see what little tweaks I can do next time. :-)

My hairstylist is rather affordable, especially if we're talking going for a trim and not a cut. When I had a pixie it was really easy as long as it was rather short. With a bit of length it started to look very frumpy. But then I still had a middle part and a bad cut besides, in hindsight.

And thanks. My next cut is not planned until the middle of December, so there won't be any changes before that anyway.

I think the rolled sleeve looks good, with the flash of wrist, maybe just less rolled? I often find outfits look different in pics than in real life; in that case I go with the real life one! :)

I know for me, the pixie took WAY more work to look good than a bob or even longer hair in an updo. But of course we have different textures. I really love you in this side parted bob, but it's too bad the length is so fussy, since hair cuts are expensive (another reason I don't have a pixie anymore)!

I've looked at these pics several times & still don't see the triangle head thing you're talking about, although the other curly haired ladies seem to understand. So just remember that all of us straight haired women are admiring your curls, not analysing the shape they make!

Thanks Eva. I actually thought the rolled up sleeves were helping, I first tried them rolled down and that looked kind of strange. Not sure what it is... I thought it looked different IRL, but not bad. As for the hair, I can't seem to find that one cut or length that really works. I've been messing around with my hair forever, only to be halway satisfied with it for some weeks in between. I've been really tempted to try a pixie again after all... even though everyone but my mum and godmother doesn't want me to.

Your hair still looks good to me, but I'm sorry it's not cooperating with you! The tie at the waist is great & something I keep meaning to try. I agree w Elly that something about it being buttoned right up to the top is messing w the proportions a bit, although you still look really good. I like it buttoned up once it's under the denim jacket, so I'm not sure...maybe because the sleeves show off so much arm? Anyway, it's still a cute look, I'm just musing out loud here!

Thank you both! I will repeat I think, but I probably won't button it up completely and try with a different underlayer. I'll see how I feel about it then.
ETA
Thanks Aida. You're probably right, but I don't want to go even shorter with the layers. I'll just have to wait until the end of the year or so for it to have a better length again. It's not bad right now, it just could be better.

Cute look! I rather like the knot with the buttoned-to-the-top shirt. Quirky. I think you just need a couple shorter top layers to mitigate the triangle head thing. When it's longer those layers are easier to put in; unfortunately, with shorter layers they can get a bit unpredictable.

I like the knotted waist. It's something unusual you don't see too often. Plus, sometimes tucking in a shirt doesn't work when it keeps rising up from the waist. I like your oufit.

Thanks Elly. I don't like shirts just tucked into the skirt, so the knotted waist is necessary. And then I didn't like it unbuttoned because the T-shirt I wore for warmth underneath was visible which made me feel frumpy. But maybe doing both was too much. The thing with the longer hairlength is that it doesn't always work as intended and I'm not sure why. Plus the length I had before the cut was driving me crazy, even though it might have looked better.

I like the color and pattern of the shirt on you, but don't know how I feel about the knotted waist and buttoned to the neck combo--- I would like it one way or the other I think. Your hair is naturally beautiful, but the triangle syndrome is why I mentioned in the other thread that I like it a wee bit longer with a few more layers near the bottom to thin the bulk.

I'm so glad when I can go fetch my other two skirts tomorrow... Wearing the black skirt (again) with the shirt all buttoned up and knotted in the waist. #2 shows my outerwear - denim jacket and bag. What do you think?

Oh and unfortunately I do seem to have a bit of triangle hair syndrom again, now that the haircut has settled. I think I just might have to go longer to get a grip on that. Seems like every cut at this length is doomed to have that problem.

(I corrected the knotted ends after seeing the pics.)
