Thanks, Suz. Continued shrinkage is in the plan for a while longer yet. I don't mind if it's slow, as long as it doesn't stop.

Deborah, I was out shopping in this outfit, and the belt did come off when I felt a bit warm. As did the sweater. I didn't post pictures of all the permutations, because taking pictures with the timer frustrates me. I like it loose too, but the belt appealed to me yesterday. I'm the kind of person who craves variety, while keeping a fairly small wardrobe, so I do it by going through various layers and recombining accessories.

Thanks, Caro. :o)

JR I think if you wear the scarf, remove the belt and wear the cardigan hanging loose. That's just an idea though, as I like this on you and it does work.

I was just about to say that you are shrinking before our eyes, and it is true - you are! Soon you'll be walking out of those jeans from the sounds of it. I really like this belted cardigan look. I have a grey one that I like to belt in a similar way. It feels really cozy. And I think you've found the belt sweet spot in terms of width. Isn't it amazing how much difference a half inch to an inch can make?

I reserve judgement on the scarf. I am turning into more and more of a minimalist myself -- except when it comes to scarves, which I can't get enough of!! So I am probably not unbiased in this regard.

No, Pil, these are straight leg jeans that still fit fairly well, although the top is slipping around a bit. I find the stretch denim is great for changing shapes. The stretch makes it snug where it needs to be, and the thickness of it means it doesn't bulge and bag as easily as dress pants.

JR - I have come to realize that with Cleo Petites I definitely have to size up, but with some of their regular line, I can wear my usual size. So weird! But yes - I can definitely meet up to shop during the year - weekends are good, week nights are a bit hairy!

QP, I thought I would be using this cardigan less, but the opposite is happening. I'm liking the silhouette of it more and more. I used to try belting it with a skinny belt (following the advice of my nieces) but I look like a potato sack tied in the middle. Using a slightly wider belt completely changed the effect. And today was cool enough that I appreciated keeping it closed.

Victoria, I'm somewhere in the middle between you and Angie. For me, most outfits aren't complete without accessories, and I always have at least a small pair of hoops in my ears. I get quite uncomfortable if it feels overdone to me (I'm talking about for myself and my personality - I'm much more tolerant of different levels on others). Because the scarf was a vibrant colour, everything else was kept low-key: quiet black earrings and simple silver chains on my wrists. I don't wear watches (allergic to the stainless steel back, if you can believe it).

Krista, thanks! I did check out Cleo, just to try out their sizing. I was under the impression that I had to size up with their stuff, but it seemed to fit like everywhere else. But we'll have to make that shopping date next time they have a big sale or something. Do school principals have time to breathe during the school year?

It was a very dark day! I like this outfit - the belting of the cardigan looks really good.

I think it looks nice the way it is, JR. I like it with a scarf because it adds color and textural interest. I think without it it would have been a bit plain but I am not a minimalist, and prefer interesting accesories with everyfit otherwise it looks not finished to me

Thanks Angie. :o) I don't like to have too much going on, but a little something, especially for colour, makes me feel better.

It was a rotten picture for the focus (so hard to do with my camera with the timer, but a flash in the mirror is also awful and the day is very dark) so you can't see the earrings. They are dangly but very unobtrusive; a whisper to the scarf's happy song. I don't like too much music going on at once. ;o)

Hope you wear your yellow and white another day.

I wanted to do a column of white with a bright yellow scarf to brighten up the day, but it was just too cool and rainy. Maybe on Monday, but the season is running out on me.

The scarf has a simple crochet chain in the middle, to make it function as a chunky necklace. My finger was the crochet hook.
