I grew up with a WONDERFUL mom, but she did have a rather discouraging habit of being very hard on me about my clothes, often in the form of "why don't you dress more like *insert random friend's name here*". So, I am extremely strict about appropriateness (e.g. school dress code, etc.) and will offer an opinion when asked, but other than that, it's a clothing free-for-all. I've been through 8 years of track pants, wearing shorts over pants all winter, sleeping with toques on, a neighbour saying my DD dresses like Punky Brewster, you name it ... I don't care. DD thought this challenge was awesome, so she decided to join me!</p> <p>Me: Navy (my signature shade), Kate-inspired (the Gap shirt is the same one she wore on a New Zealand trip), preppy-ish layers (to make it a little crisper for an on-site day with an uber-casual client), belt (this is a new 'me' accessory), contrast (navy and white), pinky-red lip (my favorite non-nude lip color), ponytail (because time and toques and crazy wind-storms), minimal jewellery (usual studs and Fitbit watch)</p> <p>DDs alternative pick for me: she would have done a white shirt with a navy blazer and cropped straight jeans. Accessorized with a red scarf. Would be a great 'me' outfit for a milder day!</p> <p>DDs 'me' look: bright yellow sweater (her favorite color), black leggings (comfy for activities at school), Ariana Grande-inspired high ponytail (signature hair style), red scrunchy (color selection based on an established scrunchy rotation rather than the outfit). Gold sleeper earrings. Ballet stance because dance is life! Ever-present smile :D</p> <p>Happy Tuesday all! xx </p>
