Thank you so much, torontogirl! I indeed love the booctut+top+jacket formula, and may need to have fun and change silhouettes sometimes.

La Pedestrienne, thank you very much for your support! One more rider, yay! Re-the trail ride, we will spend the night in a location that accomodates horses. It's in the coldest part of France (the Jura) and we expect less than -10°C and some wind during the night...We will all be better indoors!

I adore #5 -- the stripes and sage jacket and tassel necklace look wonderful together.

I like your riding gear too; sounds like a very fun trip! (I rode competitively through high school; like Angie I have a soft spot for breeches and boots.) I'm curious about the logistics of an overnight trail ride in France: will you be camping out at night, or staying somewhere that accommodates horses?

Beautiful Aurore! Your pink cardigan is beautiful, and what an incredible blouse you found - it is perfect for you and so pretty. Nice olive necklace ... Your boot cut+top+tailored jacket formula works every time, doesn't it? And I beg to differ about your riding outfit - I think it looks great on you!

Thank you Kathie! I re-tried the blouse and it does pull a little bit due to the arch of my back. It's much less noticeable than on the photo, though, where it may be emphasized by my twisted posture.

Krishnidoux, you must be a seer : I'm currently eyeing this medium-sized white and sage green floral brooch. It's a lily rather than a sunflower, but still...it would look great with the outfit. Thank you very much for the tip!

Thank you Angie, it was a fabulous day! The color of the blouse is somewhere between cream and blush. A color I don't currently have in my closet but seems to look nice with anything.
And I'm really glad to read you're a (former) rider too!

WHAT A FUN DAY. MIL, tea, yakking, shopping and horses. How perfect.

You look fabulous, Aurore. You KNOW how to flatter your body type. Gorgeous Ted Baker floral and a nice nod to Spring.

KILLER new blouse, and bang on trend. Is it a blush pink?

Tassel necklace is a fab addition. Also on trend, and versatile. Nice that you got it in your favourite neutral.

FAB horse riding jacket. That's the only gear that I can get behind since I used to ride competitively and have horses many years ago. Smashing all round.

Wel done! I like all the outfits, they are very coherent, dynamic, fun and flattering. My favorite is pic 5.
The clock behind you reminds me vaguely of a sunflower, and I suddenly had this idea (but it depends on your personnal style): what do you think of a simple sunflower shape white/cream brooch with this outfit? It would have to be medium size (not small) and cream, not yellow nor red, IMO, for it to work best.

The necklace is a great find! Perfect with the striped shirt and jacket. And, you look warm and comfortable in the new jacket. From the front, the new blouse looks great. From the side, it looks like it might be pulling just a touch in the back. But, that could also be the angle. And, if you’re planning to wear a jacket over it, then it won’t be noticeable.

Yesterday, I had to go shopping. With a very clear objective : I needed a weatherproof horse riding winter jacket for a two day trail ride in the snow.

But since it was the first sunny day for a while, my MIL suggested we went for a short walk in town first. We ended up spending the whole afternoon in town, chatting and (not only window-)shopping.

Photos #1 and #2 show what I wore : dark wash bootcut jeans and simple black top, with the light pink floral cardigan I had not really successfully managed to style in a previous WIW. I accessorized with small gold earrings, a gold tassel necklace and my army green bag. And, of course, my reliable black booties (very comfortable despite the heel height).
I felt great in this outfit, even if it was hidden under a coat. I found it rather casual, but pretty enough to be worn for work a next time.

Photos #3 and #4 show the first item I bought - as you can notice, not really the warm horse riding jacket I was looking for.
I always find it hard to find flattering, classy blouses for my shape : they are generally too tight for my hips and too wide for my waist. This one was pretty, of great quality (made in Italy!), and on sale (-65%!) : of course, it followed me home.
What do you think about it?

Photo #5 shows an experimental outfit with the second item I bought : a long olive tassel necklace. My MIL chose the same one in dark blue. Still completely unrelated to winter jackets though.
I tried it with bootcut jeans, a camel/white striped top, and my beloved sage green blazer.
I liked the result, and could think of many other ways of styling this necklace. Olive green is my favourite neutral color after all.

At the end of the day we went back home, had a tea, went on chatting...and I ended up going to the equestrian gear shop not so long before its closing time.
Photo #6 shows my new down jacket, with softshell breeches and Dubarry country boots. What I will wear next week for the trail ride, minus the gloves, helmet and sunglasses.
Not a stylish look (and not intended to be), but I thought it would be fun to share it with you since it features the same boots I had previously styled in a workwear WIW, and in a casual WIW. Probably the most versatile item I've ever found.

Thank you very much for having taken the time to read and look! Thoughts and ideas are welcome.
