Truth is I’m right on the cusp of hourglass and pear — I think because of my quite asymmetrical body and crooked spine, literally one side of my body appears more pearish (that shoulder slopes slightly) while the other looks more balanced. I think it’s usually hidden in pics because I’m holding a phone. LisaP, the pants are a soft, weighty chino-ish fabric -- not velvet, but softer and more luxe than typical chino material. I took a closer look at the hems last night, and I *think* I can get the length I need out of the hem allowance. I might try to release the hem myself to see, and then take them to the tailor for finishing (I have basic sewing skills but a sewing machine I have never broken out -- maybe if I'm feeling brave!).&nbsp;</p> <p>Salons are open here, but my husband and I have promised to continue putting off non-essential appointments like that until we can get the vaccine.&nbsp;</p> <p>I love a side stripe, but sadly, most pants that have them fit me too closely in the hip and saddlebag area, which makes them curve and look wonky, not falling straight as I want them to. These pants are a happy exception -- they are cut with a more generous leg. I wish there were more designers doing this.
