Actually, I love the comfy, cozy look of the whole outfit--sporty luxe, as Firecracker said. The navy dress and grey jacket are classic essentials; I was admiring your coordinating grey booties and then saw Shevia's suggestion. It seems you have a couple good options with this outfit. I, too, prefer easy, comfortable outfits for long and/or arduous days at work. Your shirt looks great, and your oxfords totally rock! Shevia, I didn't even think of taller boots and wanted to wear grey.  I forgot about a pair of grey tall boots I had because I hadn't brought them up to the closet yet.  Next time I will try them and see if it changes the proportions. It makes you look approachable, I think. Not too "bossy." (Great outfit, by the way).  But it's #1 that has me riveted. LOVE that colour blocking!! So much fun. It is like a  2 piece dress on you. With #2 I would try longer boots - but I skew heavily toward longer lengths, less leg exposure (with no relation to actual legs - yours are long and lovely!). The matchy pink is fantastic in #1--great look! I like the necklace with it, too. Looks like an illustration for "sporty luxe" to me. The dress and jacket outfit is great. I think the length is fine. I struggle with lengths on skirts myself--I've posted them here and had feedback that they are too long or too short; I never quite seem to get it at the sweet spot. I wonder if you removed the belt, whether that might give a longer look overall--perhaps that would keep you from thinking you got it too short. The jacket provides nice structure and waist definition on its own. Last outfit is a great casual look. I love the oxfords with it! Glad you got through the day--sounds like a tough one before your well-deserved vacation. cheryle (Dianthus) on "WIW - A few ..." https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw---a-few#post-1380433 Tue, 21 Oct 2014 22:22:56 +0000 cheryle (Dianthus) 1380433@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ I got home from Toronto at about 9:00 last night and had to work today.  Luckily I had a few new clothing selections to wear.  LOL I will go in reverse order since today I am wearing a BR extra fine merino sweater similar to the one in Angie's finds. #1 is today's outfit.  I saw this sweater in the store and was sure it would work with the skirt.  Perhaps it is a bit too matchy but I think it is okay since the rest is neutral.  I started out with a pair of Boutique9 knee boots with laces up the front and buckles in grey but decided to switch for the plainer boots.   Sweater: BR extra fine merino Skirt:  Halogen seamed pencil Boots:  Sam Edelman (super comfy) #2 I wanted to mix the greys/silvers with a plain navy dress.  The belt is a very light grey with fine silver chains running through it.  I seem to waffle back and forth on skirt/dress lengths and feel like this is a bit too short this year.  What do you think?   Dress:  JNY Jacket:  Gibson from Janet Boots:  Born Belt:  Winners I think #3 I had back to back meetings on Wednesday and it was my last day before vacation.  I had to tell an employee that he wasn't moving forward in a staffing process and knew he would be very upset and also did a mid-year review for an employee who is having a few issues.  It was a busy day and although I don't usually wear jeans to work, I did that day. Jeans:  ON sweatheart skinny Shirt:  Gap Sweater:  rickis Shoes:  Splendid red patent (the new love of my closet) Belt:  Men's from Costco (leave no shopping stone unturned) What do you think?  Hits or misses this time?
