Sorry to abandon this post... life exploded!

Thank you for all your comments, and questions to make me think. I'm glad the jacket works, and I will definitely try to find a few more ways to style it.

The last time I wore this jacket I couldn't wait to take it off at the end of the day, but didn't feel that way this time. Maybe it was the difference in shirts? Or even the pants I was wearing as well?

I think wearing it with the sleeves rolled up helped break up all the black. Perhaps if I wear them down, I'll wear a pin or something on the jacket.

Wearing jackets is kinda new to me - I've always had one or two, but they weren't something I gravitated towards. I've always been more of a sweater girl, but that is changing as I'm trying to up my style anty. Maybe it's just getting used to the stiffer constructed ones. I do find ones that "give" get more love.

Thanks again!

Love the jacket and it adds a polished look to the jeans. I think a question you need to ask yourself is why hasn't it come out to play often? Black jacket is as basic and simple as it gets and you can probably wear it with everything! Some times style shifts can change our view of certain colors or clothing items.

I really like the way you have styled the jacket. It's a good length for pants and looks great with your jeans.

I have a jacket very similar to yours, and I've recently begun wearing it a lot. Sometimes I take an item like this and try it with as many companions as I can think of --- I often find 3 or 4 good combinations this way.

I think this looks great, in fact I have a very similar blazer that I find I don't wear a lot either :) For me it is the masculinity of the cut, but I just try to 'feminise' it with other items... say silky blouse, accessories etc.

Looks like a great outfit. I am a big fan of black and denim paired together. And blazers paired with jeans, an outfit I sport often. Nice!

I like it too. I think I'd prefer the sleeves more scrunched than rolled - the sleeve lining is taking the emphasis away from the shirt imo.
I'm a jacket person but sometimes I find, for me, that a plain black jacket & jeans don't feel as great as some other options.
How did you feel in it at the end of the day? Did it still feel comfy? Do you wear other jackets that you prefer?

It looks terrific with the boyfriends. I have the same problem. I searched for a long time for a black blazer. I finally found it, it fits beautifully. It has been sitting in my closet with tags on for 2 months. I shall be watching this thread.

I think it totally works for you here, Elizabeth. This is sort of how I would tend to wear it. Scrunching or rolling sleeves always makes a jacket feel easier to wear.

I'd love your thougths on this jacket. I bought it over a year ago, and have hardly worn it. I had been looking for a black jacket for ages, and was so thrilled to find it (I'm a tough fit through the shoulders and bust area), so I'm totally confused why it has just been hanging there, somewhat unloved.

So, out it came on Friday, in a "boyfriend" look, rather than a professional look. I did feel pretty good in it - I think perhaps it rolling and scrunching the sleeves that helped. What do you think? Styled okay here? Other thoughts on how to wear it? I'm not really thinking of getting rid of it, more like trying to figure out how to "de-orphanize" it.
