I am so with you on challenging and the "rules" (break them ALL -- and look good while doing it). </p> <p>I think your jeans are baggy in a good way -- the half tuck works (the orange is a great contrast to the blue and plum!) and the scarf is a lovely shade of dusty plum? (at least on my computer). </p> <p>Now the shirt works too and I will tell you why. Even though its horizontal stripes the stripes are thicker across the bust giving the impression that you have more there. The stripes are thinner under the bust (narrowest part of your frame) giving the illusion you are smaller there. So there is a nice optical illusion going on. </p> <p>The jacket I love the color, the structure, and the fact that it adds to the relaxed look. I would have loved to see you use a more contrasting color or print in the scarf to really step over the line into broken rule land. </p> <p>So even-though you are breaking all the rules you still look pulled together comfy and cute. Not such worrisome infractions on a supermodel, but on my mid-life, substantial form it's far more daring.</p> <p>The question is -- do I wear this again? Which elements work best?</p> <p>Incidentally, the jacket is more generous than it appears in the photo, most of is swinging to the back. It does close, although I wish it were two or three inches longer.</p> <p> I will willingly challenge my environmental norm to feel and look great, but I don't want to miss the boat, and I'm unsure here. </p>
