To me, loafers don't seem like enough, and combat boots seem like too much with a fluid, drapy look.&nbsp; My choice has always been plain but pointed ankle boots. Usually very flat too, as I can't wear a real heel. Something about the proportions can feel a bit unintentional when I wear that combo. I think chelseas in general work better when at least some of the shaft is visible; with full-length pants I almost always opt for something with laces to break it up a bit. I think your burgundy lace-up boots could work as they're a bit more streamlined, and a white-soled sneaker would probably look great too. I think you have Chuck Taylors?
