Rachylou, office clothes to bake bread sounds much better than tossing them out. I had thoughts reading Jenn’s thread of going out again, for lunch, a play, a concert, or even browsing at the library. Right now we go to the grocery store, medical appointments or labs, and outside stuff like to watch bald eagles at a state park (we saw dozens). Nothing is really open yet except got drive up or take out. At least playgrounds ( but not restrooms) are open and not wrapped in crime tape any more and open with masks and distancing.

I was just saying on Jenn’s thread all my looks have boiled down to one look this year. I’m not inclined to purge given the way things are and the uncertainty of the near/midterm future, but I am considering starting to wear old corporate office clothes to bake bread in...

Excuse me for probably not paying attention, but you work in labs and a bookstore? I love that.
As for perfectly good clothing, getting rid of it just to fit into some idea of minimalism is counter-sustainability. If you don't want to look at so much stuff, pack some away so you can open it up as a surprise if and when you get bored or things wear out.

If Texas is any indication, we are in for some weird weather. I would keep everything and just wear it out as the occasion presents itself.

Your new top looks like a great piece for transitioning into spring!

It’s good you kept your Indiana wardrobe! It seems the pandemic has made a lot of us realize we have more clothing than we “need,” at least for our current needs. If everything fits and you like it and have space to store it, it totally makes sense to keep it for now.

Last winter was my first winter after relocating, and it was unseasonably warm. This year has been colder (relatively speaking for the Carolinas) and wet with a little snow on Christmas and several ice/freezing rain/wintry mix storms. This allowed me to pull out some of my Indiana winter wardrobe and use it, unlike last winter where I barely needed sweaters. Given pandemic restrictions, I haven't bought much - some scrubs and long underwear (for underneath) for my classes. I did pick up the top in Finds from Target, in the blue and in a heathered gray for at-home wear that looks a bit nicer than sweats. I indulged my shopping/buying itch a bit toward skincare and makeup instead.

Most everything casual in my wardrobe got worn, although I've been favoring 'real' sneakers over my retro sneaker collection, since the latter aren't as supportive. I've been working hard to get everything (except the really dressy stuff) into the rotation and I think I did pretty well. Problem is, I've got way more items than I really need given my current lifestyle, but since they still fit and I like them, I don't see any point in getting rid of anything at this juncture.

For spring, I'm toying with the idea of a modified capsule approach - for my labs and for my shifts at the bookstore I've got my uniforms already, so it's only a few days a week I can be more creative. At least one of those ends up being a 'never leave the house' day in loungewear, so I'm only left with two or so days to properly dress. Maybe a 30x30 that's more like a 15x20, but for a couple of months? I'm still not sure.
