Thank you Suz and Sally. I love the idea sea colours! I thought I would be similar to you, Sally, the pink and coral you have are good for me, too, and optic white and black are not.
I feel like I should have colour and clothes all sorted out at my age of 40+ , but I don't, and I am so grateful for the advice and considered opinions which are shared so generously.
I'm rather hoping for a few more cool days now!

I think all these teal/ jade/ sea colours will be good on you. I am a spring and wear them all happily. The top will be super useful for travelling, cooler evenings, and your short winter. They wear well and don't really date - so a great addition.

Taking a photo in daylight has been very helpful. The colour is much brighter than it first looked to me when I took it out of its parcel.
Brooklyn , the jacket colour is Night Shore, which wasn't very descriptive imo.
Barbara Diane, the merino is new, the other two I have worn this winter and been happy with them. I hadn't thought of deliberately choosing muted colours in winter, but perhaps it was subconscious. It's good to have a little change with the season.
Suz, i guess I will have to consider any comments in the context of the giver! It's not common here to compliment others' outfits .
Anyway, here's a pic outside this morning, no make up except lip gloss. My phone is not a good camera.

If you are warm, clear, and light that blue jacket should work really well -- unless it is too dark -- it would be on the outer edge of your range, I would think.

The middle one is definitely more muted. But compliments from others are not always good indications -- sometimes it means the person likes that colour, and sometimes it means they notice the colour on you which may in fact suggest that it is "off" in some way. OTOH, when you get to fine gradations like this it is probably irrelevant. If you have blue-y green or green eyes, any of these would make them pop.

I do think the middle has something more mixed in, hopefully someone with more of a color background will help. I do adjust the colors I wear a bit by the season-lighter and clearer in summer, a little more mixed like this in fall.
I'm unclear if this is a brand new purchase, or one you bought a while ago but didn't wear?

I am not great with colour analysis but it seems to me no 1 and 3 are in the same family: clear and bright. No 2 not so much. No 2 is more muted. No 2 would be a colour that I would wear because bright colours generally don't suit me. But if bright works for you, I think no 1 should look great. And, FWIW, it was the item in your pile that jumped out at me when I looked at the pic. It is a very pretty colour indeed.

Suz, you are a gem. In terms of colour, I have "warm, clear and light " as descriptors. This consultant didn't use the season system but from my other reading and discussion here, I think I'm a Spring.
Which is confusing because the middle cardi is more muted!
I do want to take a photo in daylight and will try that tomorrow. (It's nearly bedtime for me)

The jacket is a beautiful colour that will probably bring out your eyes as well but it's hard to say without seeing it on.

This is probably stating the obvious so forgive me, but the cardi in the centre looks to be a softened (greyed) teal. The other sweater (pointelle patterned knit) is a bit brighter more turquoise-y teal.

The jacket is more of a blue. It seems to be of a similar depth or saturation to the teal sweater but appears brighter or more clear, perhaps, and less greyed.

In questions like this, it comes down to whether brighter or softer tones suit you best, and that is a question I can't answer.

Is your swatch a seasonal type of thing? If so, what season were you called?

These are the new items I purchased for this winter season, which is now all but over in my northern part of Australia. Guess what colour I like!
I ordered an Icebreaker merino zip jacket, on advice from here, and am deciding whether to keep or return.
I want it to fill a theoretical wardrobe hole for a topper that bridges gear/casual.
What I'm less certain about is whether it's the "best " colour for me, given that I won't wear it for 7-8 months now, outside of unexpected travelling.
So here it is beside a soft acrylic /wool cardi, and a very inexpensive pullover. My coworker complimented me on the cardi, saying it was a good colour to bring out my eyes. I really struggle with choosing flattering colour, so I go by a swatch made up for me. The colour consultant said I would soon learn to see the "colours between the colours " on the swatch, but I am not convinced!
I don't want a black option, and even if I did it is always available. If I pass up this colour now, will there be another that appeals to me later?
Pic taken in natural light on beige (not white ) background.
Thanks for your thoughts if you've got this far!
