I consider winter white and ivory pretty much interchangeable. Added texture definitely makes it more interesting; as for color combos, I love winter white with camel, navy, and black especially. My favorite winter white piece is a nubby WW pencil skirt with an oversized black plaid in it. So much fun.

I'm not sure you could go but so wrong with a color so versatile!

In recent years, white seems to come into fashion just before Christmas through to late Jan. I love white cashmere and angora sweaters but plain white does not look good on me. If I wear a white sweater, I add a colourful scarf. Perhaps I might try to wear white with dark turquoise, burnt orange prussian blue and dark purple.

Jayne: This is not all I remember, but the rest was so hidious that it's better forgotten 25 years is a long time after all.

Zapotee: I agree with you, it doesn't need to be very complicated. Textures are important though, don't you think?

The only thing you need to pull of winter white is... Winter :)
I would just treat like a cream. I love it with grey, taupe and black!

JR: I hear you on the white pant problem. Currently, I only have one pair of light pants, and they are cropped. If I find proper boots, I might wear them with the pants tucked. That would eliminate the worst stains, I guess.

Jayne: I still miss a sweater I had in high school in winter white brioche rib. It was beautiful, and I don't understand why I tossed it. Winter white is very classic in my opinion. I like your idea on pairing white and camel. That is delicate and not too harsh. I guess I want to try this trend both in fall and winter. The skirt is very nice with many of the tops, and the light pumps too. When it comes to boots, I will have to consider what to do. A pair of light gray ones could match many of my other clothes, or maybe camel. Good suggestions! Thanks a lot.

Oh I love winter whites. I tried it last year with a pair of slouchy cream trousers and a whit cardigan and lace cami underneath...worked ok until the slacks shortened in the wash. But this year I am thinking to use my white (bright white) cargo slacks and camel or tan booties, and either a white Vneck or the same cardigan. I will use camel or tan belt as I feel it keeps the vibe without being contrasting like black does.

Are you going to wear it for fall or winter?

For fall I think the cream skirt, the cream silk blouse and the tan pumps and the white belt

do you have any light colored boots to use with the capri? I would put that with the Cream white silk/cotton tee and the light grey scarf

Winter whites are in style this year? Yay!

I wish I could add some wisdom, but I am generally clueless on the "rules" for recent trends. That's why I come here. ;o) But I am looking forward to the answers.

In practical terms, I will be very careful when it comes to wearing white pants in the winter. With all the stuff they put down on the roads here, I doubt they could survive. Ditto for white winter boots. I don't know the conditions of the winter roads and sidewalks in Norway, but I imagine it would be similar.

I do have a white winter coat. :o)

I'm fascinated by the white trend this winter, and I hope I already have a few garments in my wardrobe to create an outfit or two in winter white. But I'm pondering on a few questions:

- How much black or other neutrals can be added before it no longer is Winter white?
- What about colors? Can they be included at all?
- Textures? Are there fabrics or patterns that shouldn't be included in this trend?

- I've made a note with most of my white selection. What is usable, and what should I omit to pull off this trend? https://www.evernote.com/shard.....cbd2c0085b
- Should I look for anything to supply the capsule with? I don't have a white coat or any light colored boots, for one.

What do you think of this trend? Is it of any interest to you, and will you try to wear it this Winter?
