Looks as if you were able to find the majority of items on your needs list -- I call that success. Regarding the knee length/medium weight coat, have you considered a trench with a zip out lining? I just got one from London Fog a few months ago. It works well for my shoulder seasons here in New England and might be all you need for your milder winters. As we have been having warmer than usual temps this winter, I have found that I have been reaching for my trench more often then my regular cold weather coats.

I shopped mostly early and mostly like what I bought. It's nearly all gear. I bought a couple pairs of short waterproof boots in my new color scheme, a couple of fleece layering jackets in similar colors, a bunch of new long sleeve tees and turtlenecks which are part of my daily uniform, and a few new warm jackets. One was purchased after Christmas, by Kuhl, and I've worn it almost every day. I also had an emergency purchase of new snow boots, after my newish pair tried to kill me. My arm is finally back to normal after my hard fall nearly four weeks. Thank goodness. It was hard to even sleep, it hurt so bad.

I am always looking for great footwear. Flat or nearly flat, stylish, non-dowdy shoes or boots with a comfortable footbed and room in the toebox so as not to disturb neuromas. That in and of itself can feel like a fulltime job. :)

Also looking to rebuild my necklace collection, which seems to have gone missing in my move but which in any case had become sadly attenuated over the past few years.

I'm done with shopping for winter, although we'll probably have a few more weeks of cold and rain. I've been disgruntled with my wardrobe recently but despite my complaining I actually did OK this season.

Needed items I got:

Got two warm sweaters from Talbots and a pair of cords from Nordstrom to refresh my 'it's actually cold' capsule

Packable down jacket from Uniqlo and ivory coat from ON (find) for travel to colder climates or occasional cold snaps

A couple new pairs of jeans, so I can let go of a couple worn pairs - CJ straightlegs (find) and Loft black straightlegs in tall

Short black booties - I actually bought a pair of Ecco booties last fall, but I found that the heel was just a little too high and I wasn't reaching for them. In the last couple weeks, lucked into my size coming back into stock briefly in these Born boots (find), which just came and are exactly what I was looking for. Anybody need a pair of black Ecco boots in size 10?

Needed items I didn't find:

short rain boots - tried a couple but they weren't quite right

booties in taupe or light brown, have my eye on a couple options online but nothing has reduced in price yet, and I'd like to get a bargain since I've got other boots and this isn't super-urgent

mid-thigh to knee length coat, medium weight, that's not a raincoat but would be OK in light rain occasionally, to wear with my longer cardigans and tops

I'm keeping those three items on my wishlist going forward; hopefully I can find an off-season deal and stock up.

What about y'all - how did you do? Are you still looking for something?
