LondonKiwi, we didn't actually have tix to any events. I only live a couple of hours away so we just went for the day. It was really neat to watch the hockey games in the Canada pavillion with the other fans though! I felt like I was as close as you can get without actually being there. Lots of fun. </p> <p>I did notice some fun "Olympic trends" though:<br /> The main colors are turquoise and apple green, right in line with the trendy colors for spring</p> <p>Red red red, everywhere (Canada's national flag color!) </p> <p>THE item to have were those adorable red mittens with the maple leaf on the palm that the athletes wore in the opening ceremonies. They were being sported by men, women and children everywhere! My husband is a huge ice hockey fan, so he is trying to watch as much as possible. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/winter-olympics-road-trip#post-127462 Sun, 21 Feb 2010 20:39:07 +0000 fathenry 127462@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>We went to Vancouver for the day yesterday to take in all the Olympics action.<br /> Thanks to Angie's posts on layering for cold weather,I was super comfortable all day long from 30-50 degrees and hours of walking!</p> <p>I wore tights layered under 8 hour walking boots, skinnies, thin layers under a non-bulky sweater, big puffer and scarf/hat/gloves. You can't see my whole outfit but here's a shot of the top. I was comfortable, warm and stylish all day long.</p> <p>I'm so glad I had all these basics in place to make this day trip really easy to pull off at the last minute, in winter!
