So when people wear this colour combo in an international forum, it may be difficult to know which country they represent. I can’t remember which country it was. </p> <p>The Cat, that’s interesting that the US uniform is also worn daily in Norway. All of the items are normal except the gloves and the boots. People wore boots like those in the 70s. The gloves are special. :)</p> <p>Cardiff girl, traditional fair isle sweaters and Norwegian ski sweaters are similar. A traditional fair isle would have the pattern cover the entire sweater. These look like very traditional Norwegian ski sweaters, but in US colors. The sweaters the team wore in 2014 were unfortunately hideous.</p> <p>Jane, you’re probably right. After all, no bad weather, just bad clothes, right? Different parts of the world have developed different ways to cope with cold weather. Apparently it was 28F at the beginning of the ceremony, and 14F at the end. I would have been a popsicle, just sitting there. </p> <p>Tanstaafl, I think the look is a kind of casual apre ski look. Except for the retro boots and the awesome gloves, I’ve seen people dress like that at our local ski hills. Generally, though, people around here go for function rather than coordinating colors, so when someone is a matchy matchy, they’re usually from out of town. I was primed to be post 9/11 cynical and it was far too much fun for that to be sustained.
