My mood usually picks an item and the rest of the outfit comes from that. Sometimes the weather or activity will decide the outfit (for example, I'm not going to wear wide legs that skim the ground when it's raining), but even then, my outfits will still be created around wanting to wear a specific item. Pink coat: 100% inspired by a piece, specifically wanting to wear this pink coat after seeing Angie's pink coat selfies. This coat (which I have posted in previous years) is by Dereta London and probably from the 60s.&nbsp;<br />2 - 4. Starting with a formula. I don't remember where I saw this trick, but I have been very into layering my sweaters over thin lacey or patterned sweaters and letting the sleeves show.<br />5. Starting with a piece - The jackets is vintage Fendi from the late 70s I think and I wanted to be sure to wear it before it gets too warm.<br />6. Starting with a piece - I pulled out this vintage Ann Demeulemeester shirt and realized it was pretty tonal with my trusty cashmere cardigan.</p> <p>I think I usually get dressed with a piece in mind (taking into consideration the weather and how much walking I will be doing).
