Janet - I always like your boots and footwear/ these three are great! High tops would be an excellent addition - and I am tempted.

Jenn - you are right! Take it back to my style moniker - I am feeling a bit overwhelmed wanting all the goodies. I looked on the Rollie site and there are some wonderful choices. Boots and sneakers. And lace ups could really work for me.

Thanks Smittieb- and hi!!

Angie - lovely collection there. I am actively looking at high tops....I love your converse.

Thanks Nemosmom.

Firecracker - thank you! I am feeling like I should look for one pair of statement shoes and one essential. Or I could do two statement.I am also drawn to the three photos below.

Thanks and sorry for disappearing.

Jenni - thanks. I had a look on styletread and the options are amazing. I will look some more.

Bijou - those are fabulous. Definitely considering them!

Rachy - me too.

Brooklyn - I know! I liked my winter wardrobe last year but it needs a bit of pizazz. I look forward to seeing your cool weather direction.

Robin - those are lovely boots! Really stunning.

Fashintern - thank you! Loafers are something I have struggled with but I love them on other people. Rieker are an excellent brand - so comfortable and well made.

I'm wondering if cognac booties may be more basic than what you are craving right now. I was thinking along the lines of Bijou's suggestion--I could see something like that forest green lace-up being a fun change that would work with your wardrobe. My thoughts ran to teal.

What about Rollies? If I remember right, your flats from them were a good fit, and they have some fun boot options right now:

https://www.rollienation.com/c.....mens-boots

I'm trying to think WWACAW (What would a Charlie's Angel Wear?) and I think the lace-up booties are a great option.

Absolutely concur with the cognac booties recommendation. I bet you would enjoy some high-tops as well — I got this pair of burgundy Chuck Taylors last year and they’ve been an enjoyable boot alternative.

I agree that a lug sole style would be fun too. I enjoyed my two new pairs of lug soles so much this winter that I tried to find some reason to dress to leave the house so I could wear them. A great example of trend meeting comfort. Now I need to find my summer equivalent!

I like all your boots, but the pink oxfords are still my faves.
Since you’re considering loafers, here’s the find for my Reikers. Got them about a month ago. Boots from that label I tried earlier this winter were all wrong for my foot shape, so I nearly didn’t try these, but they were on sale for 40€ so I added them to my order. I’m glad I did. It snowed a few times, a few cm each time. These shoes were all the “boot” I needed on messy sidewalks and occasionally taking shortcuts through fresh snow. They fit perfectly & felt delightful right out of the box. Lug soles without the “boot” feel, no closure required but they stay on securely. Highly recommend.

I was also going to suggest Styletread. They have amazing filters for colour, heel height etc etc, I always arrange as “price low to high” and there is often something suitable on sale. Make sure you go to the styletread.co.nz site not .com.au so you get them listed in our dollars. Much better range and prices than from Merchant, Mi Piaci et al. And most of our local companies’ shoes are made in China anyway just like say the Django and Juliette ones! So what’s the difference? Just a little shipping from Melbourne.

Hi Sal, I could see you in a pair of refined combat boots - I found these green combat boots by Jango and Juliette on StyleTread. I really like the forest green colour and think it could be great with denim and lots of the neutral earthy tones in your wardrobe. Of course these boots also come in more regular colours, such as cognac.

Thanks Suz, I agree that I would wear a colourful pair often. In our climate sneakers are good in winter (although canvas can get wet of course). I like your winter options here.

Those are fun Brooklyn! I am going to check if the gold are in stock in any of the three local stores and see what they look like. I agree with a skirt a higher shaft is better. Australia has better shoes than here though - at that mid price point.

I pulled out my winter clothes in the weekend, and felt a bit flat looking at them. I think great footwear could be just the ticket right now.

If you are looking for LUG sole flat boots, I think there will be lots of options. I’ve seen tan, bone and white (as well as black of course).

I definitely think a cognac bootie would be a great addition for you. And a colourful hi-top would be really fun if you have the space for it. I feel as if you would wear it quite a lot if the comfort factor is there and it is in a leather. I wore my mid-tops a lot this year on my bike, and a burgundy lug soled low heeled bootie worked well, also.

Brooklyn, with two additions one could be heeled. I am not looking for an exact replacement, but conscious these camel ones won't be around for much longer. Like with most of us life is a bit more casual, and working at an airport I don't have to be dressy on many days, and between the two pairs of pumps, the black boots and the blush laceups, I have a few options.

I like the first two Midas options - I kind of feel like a statement might be what I need right now - and footwear for me is an easy way to do this. Laceup boots could be great!

Here were are a couple of things that caught my eye (the gold on the last one I think......?)

Hi Sally, are you looking for heeled ankle boots to replace the camel pair? Or would you prefer flats?

These are from Midas. (All heels, but not too high.)

Would lace ups be of interest? Like the first pair? What about snake/pattern like the second pair? And I like the side lace effect of the last pair. I could see them working well with skirts. I might consider them myself if I can ever talk myself into wearing heels again!

I’m sure more styles will be coming over the next couple of months.

Thanks Sarah and Shevia. I think really casual cognac/tan boots would be a really practical option for me. Maybe lace ups as a change? My current ankle boots are all a bit more dressy.

All Birds colours change all the time - at the moment the colours aren't quite speaking to me.

Lug Sole loafers could work - that could be a fun mix up.

Agree with Sarah that cognac ankle boots might take some of the work load off the camel boots. I am very influenced in favor of lug soles now. Maybe lug soled loafers?

Definitely agree with your plan for cognac ankle boots. They could replace the camel ones that are wearing out. Perhaps they could have a lug sole and scratch that itch as well?

Similarly, maybe the second pair of allbirds could be in a bright color. I am not sure if they make a high top style but maybe a different style than the one you already have?

Making these suggestions because I know you like to keep a lean closet, and you mentioned footwear being expensive-- so I wondered if your purchases could do double duty.

Don't force it though. I know you won't! You have such a thoughtful approach.

Hi All

I am looking to add one or two winter footwear options to my wardrobe this year.

Here is my current collection below (excluding my 2 pairs of closed toe heels which is enough, and sports gear (running shoes, hiking shoes and rainboots)).

Boots
Navy Low shaft ankle boots with low heel
Black higher shaft ankle boots with wood block heel
Camel suede higher shaft ankle boots with mid heel
Brown suede knee high with mid heel

Sneakers
Diadora white and black leather
Allbirds pale blue

Lace Ups
Blush low heel
White flatform

All the footwear is in good condition (I really look after my winter footwear as it is so expensive here) except for the camel ankle boots are showing some wear and have been resoled, reheeled and rezipped - I think for the last time. This will be their last winter. And the pale blue allbirds are not pristine but are in good condition. I may be able to brighten them up with an Oxyclean wash.

Going around in my head are

- High top Sneakers (in a bright colour)
- cognac low heeled ankle boots
- chunky boots with a lug sole
- a second pair of Allbirds
- loafers

I don't like too much hardware on my shoes.

I will mostly wear them with denim, straight pants, midi skirts and dresses to work and in the weekend.

I usually make the mistake thinking that footwear have to go with everything but the truth is that I am covered with the basics so I can go for a wildcard.

Your ideas would be appreciated although I may not be able to buy from overseas retailers ( shipping is slow and even more expensive right now).

Thanks!!
