Thank you, Inge! I really like the Chaiken dress - I actually saw it before and it's a bit more than I would prefer to spend, even with the coupon, although the quality is probably worth it. I already spent this month's budget, so I hope they will still have it in a week or so. Although the cardigans that you posted in the other thread are awesome, too. Hmm... I also like the A.B.S. dress a lot - it's unlike anything I ever wore, but I am intrigued.
The Max Studio dress is the one Laura got - I've had my eye on it for a while, but I think it might be too short for me after seeing her pictures.

Angie a post on that (with visuals!) would be great! A black dress is a lot of black for me, and I end up looking witchy. I've thought about a scarf, but it's usually to warm for me to keep it on inside... maybe I am using wrong kind of scarves

Definitely Angie. That would be really helpful. I bought several solid black dresses last year (smacks hand) and would love to figure out how to brighten them for this fall without looking like I walked out of an 80's album cover.
:D
I wish our Macys had the variety that yours does.

Consider getting the black and wear a scarf or necklace to break up the severity. Works like a charm! I should post on how to do that.

Thank you, Angie! I forgot about Macy's.
The non-black versions of the first dress have crazy-colored trim. I like the solid black version, but ideally I would prefer a different color. Even gray would be better

What don't you like about the first dress, Marianne! It’s great!

Macys is your best bet. Max Studio is another.

Angie's must-have post made me want to start looking again for a winter dress. Even though I haven't been successful in finding a pair of boots for dresses, I still have the docs and the short slouchy boots that could work. I am not sure where to look for something that could be dressed down enough, any suggestions?
To give you an idea, I like the style of these 2 Boden dresses, but not the pattern and the trim. And the solid version is black, which I am hoping to avoid.
Thanks in advance!
