Great! Thanks for the advice. I’m assuming it will be warm inside, so I think I’ll follow your advice!!

And I stole the picture from LOFT’s website... I wish that was me!

Something to think about if you are breastfeeding. I went to my SILs wedding when I was about six months post partum. I wore a dress that I loved and felt good in. I did not anticipate that I would need to pump when I picked out the dress. It was NOT breastfeeding friendly. Twice, I had to take the whole dress off and pump in a bathroom stall. I laugh about it now, but at the time it was awkward.

I agree with Gretchen — venues are typically heated plenty enough this time of year. Just wear a good warm coat on the way there. I’d go with sheer black hose and black pumps or sheer nude hose and metallic footwear?

You never know what the temps will be at those things, but often it can get quite warm. At 4 weeks after B-day I would suggest you shop your closet for something you are already comfortable with - and do as Gretchen suggests and carry your shoes to the venu.

WOW. You had a baby for weeks ago. I'm impressed.

Gorgeous dress. I echo Gretchen.

I love this dress, and bet you will feel fantastic in it! (And I bet it will feel good to have an evening out - those first few weeks w baby are all consuming)

I’m probably in the minority, but I would say dress for what you want to wear at the party, and then add layers for getting there and back. So...nude hose and kitten heels at the party, with a heavier coat and boots while in transit? Check the boots along with your coat and wear your nice shoes for the event.

You might also want a wrap to layer with in case the room is chilly - a nice pashmina in an accent color?

My first thought is, short sleeves in snow? Brrrrrr!
Have anything long sleeve and velvet?
In any case, sheer black or nude to you tights and metallic or otherwise dressy pumps (could be low heel). Warm topper-velvet blazer or faux fur.

Headed to my husband’s work party this weekend. It’s super cold, with a lot of snow here. The party is indoors though at a very nice hotel. Attire is listed as semi-formal.

I’m planning on wearing this dress and wondering what to wear with it. Hose? Black tights? And what type of shoes? I had a baby 4 weeks ago, so I’m not really feeling like wearing too high of heels.

Thanks! I have a hard time with winter dresses.
