I recently started using the Paula’s Choice liquid exfoliate too , and it’s bloody amazing . Between that and a few other newer products I’m using , I feel that my skin is in the best shape it’s been in a few years .

I have sensitivity to the strong smells and perfumes that often added to lotions and creams and prefer "the natural" smell.

Yves Rocher' Sensitive Vegetal Collection is my favorite:
Soothing Moisturizing Cream
Targeted Comfort Care eye Cream
Soothing Cleansing Milk
SOS Shine Botanical Mask

Like @Runcarla I use St. Ives gentle apricot scrub on my t-zone.
Neutrogena oil-free moisture with sunscreen year around.

I do try different things in makeup and currently have a few that I like:
Covergirl Trublend concealer
Almay intense i-color liquid eye liner
Maybelline Brow drama in soft brown.

My skin care routine is pretty simple and works well for me year round.

Morning: I don't use a facial cleanser. I splash tepid and cold water on my face followed by Elta MD sunscreen, Tru Skin serum w/ Vitamin C and hylauronic acid, and Aveeno moisrurizer with SPF30.

Makeup: Urban Decay foundation 7.0 mixed with a drop of Bare Escentuals Bare Sun liquid bronzer, Maybelline Age Rewind concealer in Golden where needed, Benefit Cha Cha tint or Jordana cosmetics Triple Play all over color stick in Spicy Rose, and Benefit Gimme Brow in #2. I'm not currently wearing any eye makeup.

Evening: Glycolix 10% glycolic acid moisturizing cleanser, Thayers rose witch hazel, Skin Medica 0.5 % retinol 3 times per week, Tru Skin serum, Elta MD eye cream and almond oil as an evening moisturizer.

I'm super-minimalist all year. I'm a committed CeraVe user -- facial wash, nighttime moisturizer, facial serum. In the morning I wash with Spectro Gel. CeraVe moisturizer with sunscreen. Sometimes a bit of BB cream if I remember. Brown eyeliner. No mascara -- gets on my glasses. PLUS, I've been having issues with eyes watering. Even waterproof mascara won't hold up to that! Neutral lipstick or lipgloss -- still looking for a new go-to since Smashbox Charmed was discontinued, so i use whatever I'm experimenting with at the time. I feel that as I get older, I look better with less makeup.

My routine is very simple, and the only difference between winter and summer is the type of spf I use (sport/waterproof strength in summer), and the frequency of retinol (every other night in winter).

Morning: Face wash with clairsonic and Aveeno foaming face wash, moisturize with Cerave lotion. SPF Thinkbaby (winter); currently shopping for a summer one.

Makeup: Concealer (Boots No7), blush (Nars Deep Throat), mascara (Maybelline Full & Soft waterproof), eyeliner (Lisa Watier waterproof pencil), Clinique chubby in Richer Raisin or Fuller Fig; Mac Persistence or Chili, if I want a bolder look.

Night: remove eye makeup with coconut oil, wash with Aveeno foaming wash (no clairsonic), mix cerave lotion with generic RetinA (.5% cream) and apply 15-20 minutes after I wash.

Morning:
Cerave hydrating cleanser
Good Molecules niacinamide toner
Mizon Ultra Suboon cream if I need a moisturizer under my sunscreen or I'm not going outside for a while
Sunscreens: Missha all around safe block essence sun on face for everyday under makeup, Blue Lizard sensitive if I'm going outside in the wind for a long time; for body: Eucerin daily hydration with SPF 15 or Walgreens sensitive skin SPF 50
Makeup really varies/doesn't happen depending on what I'm up to and products I'm playing with so I won't list that.

Evening:
Good Molecules cleansing balm
Cerave hydrating cleanser
Peter Thomas Roth unwrinkle turbo toner
Right now I'm alternating the Olay Regenerist microsculpting cream and the Olay Retinol 24 moisturizer. Sometimes I'll put on No 7 line correcting serum on my forehead. If my skin's feeling sensitive, I'll use Eucerin Redness Relief moisturizer instead or on top of the above.

Once a week or so, I'll use a gentle chemical exfoliant and/or a sheet mask (My Beauty Diary bird's nest) followed by a facial oil, but those are my everyday go-tos.

I'm so bad about putting on body lotion after a shower or at night, especially in the winter. I just find it tedious and I get cold. I've tried in-shower lotions but have been underwhelmed. I try to use Neutrogena body oil after my showers and Gold Bond hand cream right before bed.

The difference between summer and winter is the volume of moisturizer I go through! My routine is affected by the fact that I shower at the gym after I work out, and this is 3-5 x a week.

Morning: Wash face using a face cloth and water. Apply a little Cereve moisturizer

Post workout: shower using gym provided body wash from dispenser, but St. Ives gentle apricot scrub for face, neck and décolletage. Cereve moisturizer on face, neck, décolletage and an Aveno product (they come in big tubes that don’t spill in kit bags) for body.

Before bed: Johnson’s Baby Oil to remove make-up, Cereve face wash and a prescription cream (Rosiver) for Rosecea that I’ve been using for just over a year that has changed my life!

Make-up: I dab a teensy-tiny bit of Aveno Baby Sunscreen SPF 50 for Sensitive Skin on my face and blend like crazy. It is a mineral based product, and the slight white caste works as a perfect foundation/concealer. (This is my pale skinned red-head make-up hack!). I have my (transparent) lashes and brows tinted every 6 weeks, but use a brow pencil to fill in and elongate the brow line. Maybeline Great Lash mascara on upper lashes only. A slick of Clinique Chubby Stick lippy.

FWIW, I used to have a more varied routine, and lots more products, but when we relocated in 2014 I packed a HUGE box full of stockpiled products - mostly moisturizers. (Gotta love pharmacy discount days!). I decided to run down my collection, and simplify my routine. It took 3 YEARS to work my way through the stash. YLF put me on to Cerave products, and my derm approves, so I’m not looking for anything new or improved ATM!

This is quite a refined and comprehensive beauty routine. Simple may be a relative term (No wonder you look so beautiful!).

For the last couple of years my winter routine (or tbh all year) has been extremely ascetic. I slather my face in organic hemp oil after each shower. It's what works best for my slightly acne prone, yet dry, skin.

I apply some make-up everyday, undereye concealer, mascara, blush and brow tint. Have started experimenting with creamy eyeshadows, just a hint of neutral shimmer.

I have also started to use root concealer on my hair the last year... think I want to transition to blonde/highlights to conceal the graying, and make it more low-maintenance for me..

As with my winter workhorses post yesterday, I thought I might just drop in to document what skincare and beauty products I've been using this winter as a note-to-self and perhaps to encourage you to do the same.

What's worked for you this season?

My beauty routine is really simple and consistent: despite the long list below, I really spend no more than 5 minutes on makeup! I have sensitive skin and am prone to rosacea, so gentle products and neutral tones are key for me.

Daytime:

Serum: Antipodes Apostle

Moisture: Ren Everclam Day Cream

*Primer: B Priming Souffle

Foundation: Bourjois Healthy Mix in 54 Beige

Concealer: RMS Beauty "Un"Coverup in 22 (around nose) and Clinique Beyond Perfecting Concealer in 15 Medium (anywhere else)

Undereye Highlighter: YSL Touche Éclat in 2

Mascara: La Roche-Posay Toleraine Volume in Black

Eyeliner: Kay Von Dee Tatoo Liner in Trooper Black

Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown

Lips: Sugar Advanced Therapy (with *Bite Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Pepper)

*Cheeks: Gosh Lumi Drops in 4 Peach

Finishing Powder: Bourjois Healthy Mix in 1 Vanilla (T zone only)

*Only for special occasions

Nighttime:

Wash: The Ordinary Squalene Cleanser

Moisture: Ren Everclam Day Cream

Eye Cream: Clinique All About Eyes

Notes to self:

I'm not 100% happy with the mascara and powder, so will be looking for alternatives when these run out.

I'd love to get my everyday list below 10 products, but for now this is what works for me.

Finally, as a woman in my late 30's, I realize I should probably be upping my overnight moisture game: any recommendations?

On a related note, over the course of the next year my hope is to transition away from straightening and coloring my hair -- that will be a big challenge, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

(PS: I don't recommend buying beauty products through Amazon, but it was an easy way to create Finds!)
