We have similar shapes, and I never wear my one blouse in this style, even though I keep it around for sentimental reasons.

I saw that blouse in Chicago! It's very well made - Ted Baker is great quality :). It's *washed out* though, and deliberately faded. That's not a bad thing - just warning you. I LOVE the slightly voluminous shape.

What a gorgeous blouse and I love the print! I think you'll have to try it on to see how it looks - it all depends on where that elastic hits you and how much the blouse "poufs".

I think it will depend on the length of the blouse from shoulder to elastic, If the elastic hits you at the narrow part of your middle, and doesn't overlap too much, it could be fantastically flattering. However, if the length is long, you will conceal your waist entirely, perhaps unless an obi belt or somethink like that would lend a hand for waist definition. The print is charming but sophisticated. I would get it home and interview it!

As an IT, I find this sort of blouse to often be very flattering, and it can create the illusion that I have more of a waist than I in fact possess. The tops with elastic around the bottom hem have also worked for me before, if I position the elastic in the right place for flattery.

I had the same concerns as you as to tops with elastic at the waist. However, I find them quite flattering. I never tuck in blouses, tops, etc, because I have a thick waist. This style seems a good alternative.

That is STUNNING --- what a print and such a delicious collar! Andrea, you have the most exciting taste and divine luck finding things to match. On sale, no less!

I understand your concern, having chucked out a bunch of elasticated things recently. The peplum look is so in, though! Why don't you give it a shot, and then if you aren't comfortable with the silhouette, see if you want to snip and hem if there's enough length? Are you comfortable tucking it in? That might work too.

The print is lovely!! The elastic on the bottom usually enphasise the hips, I'm a hourglass and I avoid those blouses..but you can always try and return if you don't like!

Just spotted this in the sale on the ASOS site - I adore the print.

The only deal breaker is the elasticated hem at the bottom of the blouse. I am small busted and a slight pear shape and normally would steer well clear of this style. I try generally to emphasise my waist with my outfits - which obviously is not possible with this style.

Therefore, over to you for a second opinion.

Thanks all.
