The waist in mine was not perfect and there is some extra material on the back side and in the legs so hoping the size down works for me. By the way my "size down" is really more like my "real" size since I almost always buy a 10 when I really am a size 8 because I like the roominess and comfort factor so much. I do like my pants to feel comfortable and not at all tight so I'm going to have to wait and see. I bought the smaller of my two sizes and was very glad I did as they stretched about a full size with wear. </p> <p>The tag/web site states they are the same fabric content as last year's version but I have not seen them in person to do the feel test. </p> <p>Sorry not to be of more help!
