I’m sorry for not replying individually - this post got away from me because I’ve been having a busy period with work.</p> <p>But, to answer the most important questions, Siena is doing very well! Sunday was only her second lunch out. She has been out to coffee several times but, as I’m sure most of you are aware, the experience becomes more challenging for a dog when there is food around.</p> <p>We didn’t take any photos at lunch because it was just so busy and crowded (because: Mothers Day). But there was another dog at a neighbouring table who kept barking and jumping and generally being naughty. Siena just sat quietly the whole time. I was chatting to the other group and it turned out their dog was also 8 months old. That prompted them to keep pointing at Siena and saying to their dog - you are the same age, why can’t you behave like that? I think Siena was showing off actually! </p> <p>To reward Siena for her first month of training we took her out (on another day) for a doggy latte. We got a photo of that. My whistle is for recall training. The sound carries across a dog park better than my voice. It works pretty well to get her attention. I was attracted to its Veronica Beard vibe, the dusty pink colour and the texture. It is a really lovely jacket for the price I paid. Portmans surprises me sometimes. But the tweed mix leans a bit silver-greyish, which is not very Brooklyn friendly.</p> <p>So I switched out the silver buttons for brass buttons. I couldn’t find matching brass buttons for the cuffs, so I decided to do mismatching brass buttons. I actually ended up liking the mismatch. It de-corporatises the jacket nicely. And it’s amazing how much the warmer, darker buttons change the look of the jacket.</p> <p>For Mothers Day lunch out with my mum and (my dog) Siena I wore it with my bronze jeans and a patterned knit top for a bit of a pattern mix. The top has a metallic gold thread through it. A burnished look, like the jeans. </p> <p>I think worn this way the jacket works for me.</p> <p>On a side note, I’m really liking these crescent shaped sling bags from Free People. Very handy for when one has an excitable puppy in tow. Can be worn as a shoulder bag or cross body. This is my second one. It may not be the last! </p>
