It comes from HK I find some unusual items on yoox, but it takes a bit of patience. </p> <p>I do enjoy a literal floral (as well as the more figurative versions) but I prefer large scale, dark and moody. I think I discovered when I did my dark romantic theme that my style is dark and moody but not that romantic. I like a little bit of softness, but not too much. It’s funny though, because I really love a romantic style on other people. Ombré, marble, tie dye, wood grain, brushstroke prints, blurry prints, verdigris prints. Anything abstract, art or nature inspired and tonal. </p> <p>I collect ombré items and keep them forever. My hair is ombré (dark at the roots, blonde at the ends). And I love putting together “almost ombré” outfits: outfits that use a graduation of colours in a similar way to ombre. </p> <p>Which brings me to today’s outfit. </p> <p>The jumper I am wearing here was black and white, but I dyed it tan. It’s more a tie dye than an ombré print, but close enough. It is a favourite. Maybe a favourite favourite. I was lucky enough to find a duplicate of the original at a flea market so I am now contemplating what colour I will dye that one (teal and burgundy are the chief contestants).</p> <p>The skirt is an abstract dark floral from Topshop. </p> <p>The boots are super chunky. Glam rock. I thought I was game enough for them but it ended up taking me a long time to pluck up the courage to wear them. I am self conscious about my feet. I think I like them now. (But no critical comments please.)</p> <p>I was very happy with how the colours came together in an almost ombré way.</p> <p>I finished the outfit with my long jacket from Cue (another favourite). It has a greenish undertone which I think works well with the orange undertone of the rest of the outfit. I like orange with green.
