I should clarify that when I said "tucked" I meant fully tucked

I only have one pair of wide leg pants at the moment, but I'm on my way to more! I can wear my longer tops over them, if I have a shorter topper (jacket) over the top. I also like to tuck, and then gently blouse, my longer tops. The slight blouser softens the look of the tuck, and is more relaxed and flattering.

It might depend a bit on bust/ shoulder size/ width and other modifiers. I honestly don't find them hard to pair as long as you are willing to use a welt, a tuck, a semi-tuck or a crop or hi-low.

Tucked or cropped slimmer tops here. Sometimes fuller blouses/tees/sweaters again either tucked or cropped; knotted tees work in a pinch, and hi low tops can also be fun.

So...I have one pair of high waist culottes. I have been wearing semi-tucked and bloused tees that have drape, (reined volume on reined volume, I would call it); semi-tucked blouses with reined volume; cropped fitted tops. I will also wear with peplums and a longer line vest/ or cardigan. Frankly, I find they work with any top providing I deal with structure in other ways, i.e. for me that means a bit of a heel (you have height and longer legs, so it is not important), and a bit of visible skin to balance my fair hair.

I think the top also depends on the waist of the pants. If a hi waist, I like fully tucked or cropped tops/sweaters. A trimmer fit if wearing a tee shirt. A trim or boxy cropped sweater. If a regular or lower rise, I might tuck or not, though I personally don't like a half tuck. I also like to layer with a fitted blazer or a cropped jean-style jacket in denim or heavy linen.

With my figure type (hourglass) I try to avoid too much volume on top so that I don't look like a refrigerator! That is, if the trousers are standing away from my body due to the wide legs, I don't want the top/jacket to do the same.

With my wider leg crops, especially the ones that have higher waists and are more culotte-like, I tend to wear shorter, more cropped tops -- not necessarily boxy as that would be too much volume on volume. Shorter peplum tops also work well for me. My natural waist is very high, so tucking just does not look right on my particular body.

All of you that are venturing into the Wide Leg pants and jeans territory, what types of tops are you wearing or plan to wear. I want to join your club but am unsure about top and topper styles to pair with them. Do they require a full tuck or can a half tuck or no tuck work? What about length?
