Very classic and a lot of fun. I can see why that silhouette works so well for you, so it makes complete sense that you'd prefer it.</p> <p>That said, I really like the proportion with the vest and I'd be more likely to wear them that way myself. It looks very modern and sporty to me. I might go a little shorter with the pants, maybe layer it with a long-tailed shirt and with a flat shoe or chunky boots. I feel quite Mary Tyler Moore in them. Sorry I did not Iron them when they obviously need it.</p> <p>I think the length and fit are pretty good on me (but please feel free to differ and let me know). They are a regular size 4. i am 5"4" with longer legs for my height. These would definitely not be pants to wear with flats. I tried a high-ish heel boot and a mid-heel boot and the higher one was definitely better.</p> <p>This is kind of a J Crew super-set with a few different versions.&nbsp;</p> <p>First couple are the J Crew Jackie leopard twinset with red Zara boots (that are unfortunately hurting my feet so I can't wear them till my arthritic toe decides to chill out).</p> <p>Then I tried it with an older burgundy Tippi sweater, little paisley scarf and Topshop booties.I think the pants are better with a more cropped length of top (this sweater is a bit long) and higher heeled booties.</p> <p>Finally I put the plush vest over -- it's a good color match but the shape combination is not good.</p> <p>Anyway I hope this helps anyone who's giving wide pants a bash. Let me know your thoughts here, and how yours work out for you. </p>
