In the early days of premium denim, they were the first to move away from the blinged-out styles that became popular (rhinestones on the butt, etc) to popularize a simple, streamlined look. No extra stitching on the back pocket, and nice solid washes without a ton of exaggerated whiskering. I want to say my first expensive jeans were J Brand 811 jeans - that's an oddly specific memory and might be wrong! (Expensive for me at the time meant probably bought at a thrift store, but for $50 instead of $10! I was a frugal grad student.)</p> <p>I have a pair of Marias, too - got them at Beacon's Closet thrift store in NYC last year. Unfortunately they're a size too small now, but I loved them, because they were high waist without squishing me too much. A trip to the big city wasn't in the cards, so I popped into 'Winners' to see what was in store....just in case.</p> <p>Pickings were slim in my size, but a pair of JBrand jeans ($29.95) stood out. They are a dark-wash high-rise slim (skinny?) fit, but (surprise!) fit my calves. They have 'Maria' on the label, but also the name 'Brittany'. Fabric is 92% cotton, 7% polyester, 1% elastane. I've worn them twice and they haven't bagged out. They are super comfortable and on their way to becoming my new favourite jeans. I don't know much about JBrand jeans, but they seem to be a premium denim that usually retails for around $200 CA! I also picked up a pair of white Sketcher faux-Cons, and the Hershel back pack arrived! </p> <p>I LOVE the floral print of the backpack (thanks Jules!) and think it will elevate my casual puffer and backpack days when I'm doing the library run. </p> <p>#1 after gym - JBrand jeans and Sketchers<br /> #2 jeans label - Maria (high rise skinny in 'photo ready' dark wash?)<br /> #3-6 Hershel Hoffman print backpack against black puffer, red raincoat, try on, product info</p> <p>Any info about JBrand jeans would be appreciated.
