The originals seem cute, practical and are a very good price for leather sandals in Canada ($70!!!). I will probably go with gold. We all need sandals that can get wet and be washed, and the athletic, synthetic styles my kids wear have terrible odour problems. These seem like a good alternative! I don't have BF jeans, but I imagine they'd work well together, too! </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wib-with-100-modcloth-store-credit#post-1618025 Fri, 19 Feb 2016 01:04:11 +0000 Sal 1618025@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>You have really thought it all through!<br />I like all the pieces - I have a similar pair of sandals which I wear a lot. &nbsp;I find they work with cropped pants, boyfriend jeans, shorts and knee length dresses - I don't love them with skinny jeans.</p> <p>The red top will be a great duplicate:) </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wib-with-100-modcloth-store-credit#post-1618019 Fri, 19 Feb 2016 00:38:14 +0000 Kaelyn 1618019@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>It has been a few weeks since I received my first order from Modcloth, so I thought I'd give everyone who has been following my shopping efforts an update! &nbsp;I returned the four items that didn't work for me, which were worth a little over $100. &nbsp;I chose store credit and today I received an email that they'd received my return package, and these are the new things I selected. &nbsp;I got three items--two pairs of shoes and a top--for just an additional $5 out of pocket.</p> <p>First, I decided to buy the short sleeved tunic in another color, because I have been&nbsp;<i>living in&nbsp;</i>the two I bought on the first round (one in solid black, and one that is white with black stripes). &nbsp;I decided to go for the red one because red is one of my favorite colors to wear, and it makes up for the disappointment of the tomato red tunic that looked so fab in the pictures but DID NOT work with my body type. &nbsp;Red and blue are (probably) the only colors I'll be buying for the rest of 2016 because I'm loving neutrals right now and enjoying adding more of them. &nbsp;This tunic was also a good choice because I am losing weight and it will keep working for me during this transition because it is designed to be loose and casual, so having it be a little oversized in a month or two won't ruin its fit.</p> <p>Second, I found these sandals, which have GREAT reviews. &nbsp;I've been looking for another perfect pair of sandals for years ever since I wore my last pair until they broke, and these look like they may fit the bill. &nbsp;I seriously considered getting them in red, but Logical Husband told me I should get black when I asked him for his opinion (he's probably right). &nbsp;White or brown would also have been a practical choice, but I already have a white pair of ankle-strap sandals from last year and I generally prefer black over brown because my hair is very dark brown (most people perceive it as black) and I think black makes a better bookend for me. &nbsp;Plus, I wear a lot of black. &nbsp;I really only like brown in accessories. &nbsp;I moved the red pair to my wish list and plan on treating myself to them if I'm head over heels for the black pair. &nbsp;I'm extremely picky about shoes, so when I find the right pair, I'm learning to let myself duplicate.</p> <p>Third, I just LOVED the look of these flats. &nbsp;I thought the perforation would be both on-trend and practical because they'd let air in and keep my feet cool. &nbsp;They have pointed toes, which are underrepresented in my wardrobe. &nbsp;And because it takes a lot for me to get cold, Logical Husband pointed out that they'd work well for me for most of the year. &nbsp;I am in sore need of another pair of go-with-everything black flats, so they were a no-brainer. &nbsp;They're fairly simple, but with an interesting detail, and they suit the direction my style is heading this year. &nbsp;Someone said my look had a "polished edge" on one of my WIW posts and that phrase popped into my head when I saw these flats.</p> <p>There were a couple other items I considered--a different pair of sandals, which looked great but were new and had no reviews and would have been most of my budget at $80, so I decided against them; and a pair of sleek looking booties, which I DO need to get sometime this year but were not as high a priority as the sandals and flats because I already have lace-up boots and combat boots which, while they are definitely on the casual end of the continuum, will do for now. &nbsp;Maybe I'll get my more refined pair of booties this fall.</p> <p>Everything I did get will work well with a lot of things I have already, including my previous Modcloth purchases, and with other things I want to get in the near future. &nbsp;(White jeans, white jeans, white jeans.) </p>
