These all look like great buys and fit you really well.

I know what you mean about the ironing and most of the no-iron fabrics (which often have some strange chemical that scares me off). Anyway, I've found that supersoft cotton shirts like brushed cotton fair better on the wrinkle issue. That, and choosing patterns which hide the wrinkles. I also use a spray bottle ironing technique (my own). I take the shirt or tee out of the dryer after a little warm up - then I smooth it out on a hanger and straighten it. I then lightly spray any wrinkles with the water and further smooth them out. For stubborn wrinkles I spray until the fabric is pretty wet. The shirts never are "ironed" in appearance but they are acceptable for my casual life.

Another tip is while in the store, take the fabric and "bunch" it up a bit and see if it seems to wrinkle easy. If so, you know it will be a mess. If not, it might be a good candidate.

You can buy knit (tee shirt style) button downs too sometimes. Or rayon blends.

Ornella, no sadly my only "solution" for that is fashion tape, which doesn't always work. I was referring to the holes in my wardrobe, which are closing up nicely!

I think I will need to consider a no-iron shirt after all. I washed all three yesterday and the two blue ones are wrinkle-free out of the dryer, but the white one is a MESS. My iron didn't even come close to flattening out the tight pleats that formed down the arms. It's been so long since I owned something that required ironing that I forgot to factor it in when shopping. Now I will!

Joy -- I've tried a couple of no-iron shirts over the years, but have returned them because they are itchy. Do you have any favorite brands?

GP & Ceit -- thanks! It's so nice to just scrap everything and start over. Good thing I'm going back to work in a couple of weeks!

I'm continuing to build a new wardrobe from scratch. I have a few jeans, pants, and sleeveless layering tops, so my new focus is on long-sleeves shirts. I've always loved the look of buttoned shirts, and while I've collected many over the years, they've always gone unworn. I wanted to try again and focus on softer fabrics that won't feel too stuffy when layered, but won't be too flowy to give me an unwanted peasant look.

My wishlist has had a denim/chambray shirt and white shirt on it forever, even before I lost weight. I never successfully found them but decided to try again since I'm making a fresh start. I also added a bright color to that list, maybe green or pink.

Many of my shopping excursions these days are solely to determine sizing, fit, and see what's out there. I don't expect to by anything, or even find what I'm looking for. But today, I was thoroughly surprised to find the exact kind of buttoned shirt I was hoping for, three times over! Denim, white, and bright. They are all soft, 100% cotton, and fit into my emerging wardrobe. So excited!

I also found a tweed-like jacket. I almost left it behind because I thought maybe it looked too small (slight pulling in the front underarm area), but it felt great, like a sweatshirt. I wouldn't feel the need to take this one off at home the way I do with other layering jackets when I wear them like cardigans. They didn't have a larger size in that jacket, but I tried the larger size in a couple of other styles and they were clearly too big. I'm so glad I decided to get it!

Next on my list: two skirts and two dresses. After that, I'm in want-ville rather than need-ville.
