I'll take another look/try-on. Not a problem (again)--I'm not at all invested in it like with some other purchases. I didn't even remember the sleeves being long, but you're right. I also have an ongoing issue with shoulder padding, but it's hard to avoid that...

I am unsure about the jacket, Mochi. The sleeve length, which is too long, can be altered - but how is the actual fit in the back and in the torso? It looks snug in the photo, but that could be because of the way you are standing in order to take the photo with your phone.

I am also unsure of the colour. But that can be rectified with a layered colour that's very flattering right up against your pretty face.

Sorry to be a mare :(. But I wouldn''t be doing my job otherwise.

The jacket is great and the seam above the bust is a nice subtle detail, not a problem at all...the opposite, in fact.

Not a problem, Helen. At the moment it's not the best fit. (But apart from the bust, it's not noticeably tight. Maybe it's supposed to be slightly loose?) Unfortunately, that's kind of a standard I've become used to when something's not knitwear. It's either that, or the shirt's going to be too big or too long or too baggy somewhere else or something. I am sure I will lose some more weight, but even then I'm not positive it will be the kind of brilliant fit you'd see on someone like Angie. But at that price I am willing to take a chance.

I think that you are right that the AF blouse will be good to go in no time.

I think the jacket looks great - will pull together so many items in your closet, I'm sure.

Don't know if it's just me or not, but the shirt looks too small - I don't like the way it's hugging your tummy in the pics. I don't think it is flattering at all at this time. I read somewhere on the fourm that you're on a weight-loss regime, so perhaps it will fit better when you've reached your goal weight. Just my two cents - hope it's not offensive!

Mochi- I bought two AF blouses on ebay earlier this year. One was a little tight on me. Although it was a hard decision I ended up thrifting it because I really have come to love Angie's advice " dress for the body you are in today" because otherwise to me it just gnaws and gnaws that the 'it' item still doesn't fit right. Well then it isn't " it" for me anyways.
All I'm trying to say is if you ever find yourself rethrifting it: don't worry. Even the most expensive dress/item isn't worth it if it doesn't make you feel wow.
I love the jacket on you and the shape it has. kudos on a great buy!

I'm so glad you found a few items you like after a discouraging shopping day yesterday. The jacket looks very versatile. That seam detail doesn't present a problem to my eye. And the shirt will motivate you to drop those pounds! It's gorgeous!

At least where I am, rae, they are constantly doing sales! 30, 40, 50% off (full-price and already discounted items too). Maybe online would work for you as well.

(whoa. On edit, what. am. i. talking. about. I was thinking of Ann Taylor. No, we are not having constant Anne Fontaine sales here. Though we do have one of her stores.)

Must keep the jacket! It took me a while to realize what you meant by the seam on the bust. I think it looks great on you! I like how the V of the collar hits in a narrow place on your body, and I think it'll go really well with longer shirts, too.

Major score on the AF blouse - we peeked in there during the last meetup, and blouses were beyond gorgeous, but some of them were around $500. What a great deal for you! And the gap is hardly even there - this will fit you perfectly in no time flat.

Shirt from another chichi consignment store in downtown Boston. It is a score--Anne Fontaine, like new, for $40! Yep it is a little gape-y in the bust but I will have to shrink further--it's Final Sale, mwa hahahahahah. I never thought I would be able to size into anything that came from Paris! :)

The jacket was unplanned and came to me through my dropping in on a sale at Ann Taylor. It's very well made and was $20! Since my wardrobe is pretty much nothing but holes, I think I can really use it. Only concern is the seam over the breast on one side. Hate to have details around there. Keep or return? (PS: it's unbuttoned in pic, but fit of jacket is good)
