I find that Frye shoes can sometimes be like that-- well made but a bit stiff at first and if your foot doesn't fit that particular last there isn't anything "extra" about them to save the comfort factor. I find their boots easier to wear but they vary hugely between styles. Maybe they will still work? The fit was terrible... not "these really need to be broken in" terrible, but "I hurt in six places and my toes are cramping up" terrible. I exchanged for a size up and hope that will work. And I took some photos for posterity. </p>
