The last instance was the worst - two years ago when I moved into this building (in a different unit) and barely a week after I moved in, a pipe burst and I came home to a total wreck - my stuff was fine but water had poured in under the door, through the ceiling and walls - it was a lot of work on the maintenance team to get it back to normal. Fortunately we have on-site emergency maintenance and they are *very* responsive - they came within 10 minutes of my page this morning.</p> <p>I was definitely glad to have a fast fall back outfit on hand! Into a large puddle of water. I looked above me and the ceiling was drooping and bulging. Apparently someone's dishwasher gave out above me. </p> <p>Good news is it was localized to the kitchen and my stuff is fine, and the apartment will be good as new in a day or so after maintenance confirms everything has dried out. </p> <p>But oh, on a hectic morning, I was so glad to have a simple dress to throw on without a second thought! (I had to dress in a hurry- I was literally still in my bathrobe with my hair in a towel when emergency maintenance showed up since they responded so quickly.) </p>
