Ah, that makes sense - match does not equal duplicate. That's what I had assumed.

Haha, Isabel. I had those same thoughts. I think invisibility could be a statement. For sure, it's a way of life.

Alassë - Good question. Of course, I should say for the record when I say "match" I don't mean "duplicate." And that I'm looking for "harmony with" because I feel setting really affects how things appear. I mean all-beige dressing can be very stylish, IMO; but it can be rendered non-existent by context. Probably the first thing I personally could do is get a different haircut. My RATE, hipster cut just looks a hot mess against cubicle beige. Beige cubicles aren't RATE; they're budget streamline futuristic. It's sort of the wrong element of my style to take with me into cube land.

Hmmm...this is just too infinite to ponder.

Are you invisible if someone is not there to not see you ? If it is not a style, could it be a "statement" ?

So, how would you match the style of a beige cubicle without becoming invisible?

So I had a little aha moment thinking about NaturalEve's thread on developing an eye for style. Ok, so I get hung up on matching the style of my outfits to the architecture or decor of the building I'm in, right? Even if this means foregoing my own personal style. Well, I was contemplating how style, good composition, means doing something so the viewer's eyes don't glaze over and slide right off the picture. And then the picture of someone in all beige sitting in a beige cubicle flashed in my mind.

I mean, people may not even be able to see you. Your job security could even be put on the line because they think your cube is always empty and you're always bunking off... Lol.

Ok, I joke, but I'm serious. I've decided invisibility is not a style.
