Enjoy the time with your BF! </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/why-fancy-meeting-you-here#post-208740 Wed, 01 Sep 2010 01:07:45 +0000 hanna 208740@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>hi all!</p> <p>i've so missed the forum. i've been doing a lot of lurking, but since i haven't had too much time to actively participate, i've been loathe to post pics and whatnot. but we're currently between deadlines, and work is a little slower, so i thought i'd hop on the forum and check in! shh, don't tell my boss...</p> <p>on the last episode of My Life, i told you guys i had taken a job at a bank, in a corporate communications position. that lasted, oh about a month. i discovered very quickly that the corporate world is not for me, though perhaps i would have stayed longer if i'd actually DONE any corporate communications as opposed to binding, filing, sending out parcels, setting up appointments, and whatever else my secretaryless boss needed at the time. oh yes, good times indeed. oh, and when i left, i got a talking-to that insulted everything from my degree to my choice of career, and was also racist, sexist, ageist...quite a feat! i am SO happy to be out of there.</p> <p>fortunately, though i left without a job in hand, i landed one three days later -- as a senior writer in one of the biggest magazine publishing houses in the country! i've been here for over a month now, and honestly, i'm so glad i somehow managed to land on my feet.</p> <p>fashion here is as ridiculously trendy as you'd expect -- lots of leggings and skinnies, FIERCE shoes, tunics. plenty of license to be totally creative ;)</p> <p>being away from the bf is very hard, and i miss chicago madly, but it's good to be with family, making cookies for eid and breaking our fast together at the end of the day now that it's ramadan -- it feels very special. plus, the bf is coming home for three weeks in 4 days (!!!!!!), and i think just seeing him for a little while will help me make it through the next few months. </p> <p>okay, enough yammering. i really hope i can start posting outfit pics again soon, but for now i'mma try commenting on a few threads. i miss you all, as ever. </p>
