I have a $7 pair of jeans and they don't crinkle like that ...I have never worn premium denim before (nor have touched any premium denim) but I'd imagine it would be comfy!

The ones I'm wearing in the picture are from J. Crew. (they're actually a little too big/baggy) Thank you for the BR recs--I am going to check them out tomorrow--there's a BR right across the street from my office!

I'm considering making the leap to more premium denim, too; I'm guessing they won't have this type of problem. I haven't ever bought a "good" pair of jeans (the old, I don't want to spend that kind of $$ until I lose weight thing), but after reading all about them here, I am thinking that it's probably worth the money to look and feel good--and I'll probably look better (thinner!) in them anyway!

Angie's recommendations from BR - the Martin skinnies and the Sloan fit flares - are made with blends that don't wrinkle at all. Part of the reason I love them is that they are very well behaved all day long. When you're shopping for new pants, you might check those out.

I have that problem with cotton pants, but usually not with jeans or poly/lycra blend pants. My guess is it's probably the fabric and maybe also the fit.

Sometimes I can tug the top of the thigh smooth when I sit to make it a little better, but mostly I've just phased out the pants that do that.

I notice this to be a problem in my pants made of light material, and ones that are too loose in the thigh area.

The only thing that I can think of, is that you may run a little hotter, body temperature-wise, and effectively end up ironing the creases into your pants when you're sitting. If the fit is relatively snug (at least when you sit), and you sit for awhile...long enough to be warm, and if there's any relative humidity where you are, then your body may be acting like an iron...

Sorry I can't suggest a solution for the situation, but that's my best guess as to the cause of it.

Thanks, Mo--that may very well be the problem! I'll have to start hunting around for pants with stretch.

Do you have any stretch in the fabric? Perhaps that would help them to stretch back into shape and not just crease. I know my cotton and linen items wrinkle a lot more than any blends with lycra or elastane.

I sit at a desk all day, but no matter what type of pants or jeans I wear--no matter the fabric or cut--they get these awful creases after just a few minutes of sitting:

http://i53.tinypic.com/atkadt.jpg

I realize sitting all day can exacerbate creasing, but why don't all of my coworkers have creased pants, too? Is it the quality of fabric? Something else? It drives me nuts--if I sit on the train to work, I get to work looking all creased and un-polished, even after painstaking ironing before leaving the house.

Related question: Why do all my jeans get a line/pull across the middle of the thigh? I'm quite certain I'm wearing the correct size--and even jeans that end up a little baggy get that line for me.

Thanks fashion experts!!
