Basia, I think this happens more often with X-hourglass shapes when the back rise is a little short? Some of my jeans do this too, but they loosen up with wearing and look fine.

Basia, you may want to post your photos in another thread if this doesn't get many answers. I want to hear what people say because I have a hard time finding jeans that don't do that.

Ok - posting my own photos. I think these look good from the front and feel comfortable - but am I right in that the "underbutt creasing" is a deal breaker?

oh man! I wish I could see the photos in this old post bc I just got a pair of white jeans that look incredibly slimming and flattering from the front... but there is a whole lot of creasing happening at the "underbutt" region. I don't know if that is a deal breaker!!!

I'm so glad I found this - I was doing a search on this because it was happening to my brand new Gap jeans today, which fit fine everywhere else. Good to know it's not a deal-breaker!

Thanks for asking, Shannon! My jeans do the same thing, especially thinner denim. I decided not to worry about it anymore, but it's good to know that it happens to others.

I'm not sure. Mine do that too especially on stretchy jeans. Sometimes it’s because of the curve on the leg and sometimes not. This happens to men with skinny, skinny legs too! It's not a problem at all. You look fabulous, Shannon!

This happens to me too. Some of it may be because of tightness in the thigh area but some of it I always thought was "baby don't got back" syndrome. Like if my flat-as-a-pancake bum was a bit fuller, it would pull the fabric up like Maya says and they would fit fine. This might work by sizing down but at least in my case, they definitely would not fit in the waist and probably the thighs as well.

Hmm...perplexing! Perhaps you could show a view from the side? Maybe your legs curve in such a way (from the side view) that makes the crease? For example, if you bend to the side at the waist, your shirt will crease on the bent side. Does that make sense? I guess that's my only guess!

I had the same thoughts as Jean. It just looks like if you could pull them up more, the creases would smooth out, which could theoretically happen in a larger size..only then they would be too big everywhere else. But I do not think it looks bad. Even my trouser jeans crease a tiny bit in different places. With any slim cut jeans it's inevitable. I have never hoped for my jeans to fit me the way they fit the models!

I have the same problem. I don't mind a little bit of a crease-- I can't seem to find jeans that dont do that at all.
I think the first and third pair fit you nicely, and look nice on you. The second pair seemed a bit big on you.
Shopping for jeans is quite hard work isn't it? My husband just doesn't understand...

First of all, you look great in jeans!
I do not think they look bad with some crease. It looks as if what is happening is that they are too short in the rise but a bigger size may be too big. I do not think the third pair look as if they are too baggy.
What kind of jeans are they?
Maybe you have not found the right cut which is the dilemma many of us have had on this forum. It is a full time job finding the perfect jean, exhausting!!

All of my jeans crease across the back of my thigh! It drives me crazy! I don't think that they are too tight. If anything they are baggy right below my bottom....ALWAYS. I hate it! I cannot find a decent looking pair of skinny jeans because of this. I see women all over wearing skin tight skinny jeans that do no crease in the back. What's the deal???? Here are some pictures of what I am talking about

http://www.flickr.com/photos/gymgirl/2531298983/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/gymgirl/2511491331/

Well, these are just too tight

http://www.flickr.com/photos/gymgirl/2487336641/

http://www.flickr.com/photos/gymgirl/3972634973/

This picture is before I washed these. They now sag and bag all over back there. I loved these jeans too!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/gymgirl/3996710170/

Sorry for all the pictures of my behind, but I wanted you to see that it happens on every pair I wear. Do they all fit bad?
