For me, it has been more a year of editing and narrowing down to what is authentic to me, rather than adopting a completely new look. Figuring out my style persona was helpful, so that new purchases worked for, rather than against me. Understanding some fashion concepts has led to some experimentation, but it all fits into the overall scheme of things.

I feel like in am developing two distinct style personas. On the one hand I am really drawn to and excited about modernish draped mainly unstructured looks. On the other I am wanting to hone my pre-YLF formula of jeans and a solid top to perfection in fit an proportion. What I choose for any given day (persona 1 or persona 2) seems to depend on the weather and my mood. After going pattern crazy for two years I am mainly done with adding any, Ill be interested to see how the longevity goes on them as I seem to tire of prints more quickly than solids.

I guess my style would be slightly evolving if I were putting effort and money into it. I'm tired of what I own, at least the limited options aspect of it. Overall the look is okay but limited.

I'm steaming along pretty happily. If anything, I need to polish up a little - tackle the hair, weed the closet of old things - rather than hare off in a new direction. It's probably because my new projects are in old places. The wardrobe remains valid. I did need a feel for suits at the end of last year, but having got some, I'm good. Style strategy-wise, the punky quirky waif thing is also working for me, keeping me happy. It's mostly in my head - little touches I bring to the officewear; but it's enough to satisfy.

Great question !

I am in this weird middle. I am going back to black, soft button downs and some of the things that I used to love before hand. But I have also found that I really like these "flowy" tops ( like the Joie sweater that I got in a large ) and a couple more interesting shoes for summer that are not black .

I feel as if I have tried some new things but now I am settling in with a bit of both old and new.

Mine...because it shifted so much this past Fall and Winter to looser, longer, more fluid. I want to enjoy this for a while...it still feels very new to me. I want to maintain it and find Spring and Summer things to continue it, so I'm definitely not looking to revamp it now.

Not changing too much, more refining like others said. I'm replacing placeholders with better pieces as I can. For ex: I'm wearing a weirdly stiff navy linen blouse today that I hope will be replaced with the linen navy blouse I have order. Linen should be soft, not sure if the one I'm wearing is 100% linen.

I'm finding a few of the pieces I've been searching for over the past two years - a deep blue unlined knit navy blazer for example.

I'm sticking mostly to my neutral palette of navy, charcoal, oatmeal, denim, black and white, and I'm enjoying the limit so I can focus on fit, feel and style of the cut instead of the color.

Hmmm, certainly no earth shattering shifts for me - in fact, I'm continuing to weed out what doesn't seem to 'fit' my persona (mod silk shift dress most recently). But I don't feel stagnate either. Perhaps I am another on team full circle. Actively seeking out a maxi skirt and dress, after tossing those I had when I got here (2010). Wearing short shorts again, but a better version. Etc, etc. I suppose refining works for me, too. And I still have a hard time repeating exact outfits, even though I've pared my closet and color palette drastically from when I first got here. That need to tweak something to make it different is still strong, even subconsciously.

Count me as another who feels like I'm refining more than changing at this point. I'm in a bit of a closet editing mood. I'm in the mood to only add judiciously. I suppose it helps that most of the spring trends are not moving me (pastels) or I already have what I need to participate in them (sporty looks, black and white).

Plus, doing so much traveling lately has really cut down on my wearing opportunities and experimentation -- there's nothing like living out of a suitcase for a few weeks in a really casual environment to let you know what REALLY works, you know? But when I come home, I want to hug my closet and wear my neglected items that I love the most. It sort of throws the less-loved items into a harsher light.

I'm refining. I think I still have a ways to go in that department. But it's a process of whittling back more than trying the new -- although I definitely will try the new if it appeals to me.

I think you know my answer, Una. I'm pretty much where I've been and sort of okay with it.

But I have to say that I have a few new pieces that are a bit of a stretch for me -- the VC tube skirt, the Parker Devlin pants, the CM Franny, and the nude Okalas -- and when the warm weather comes and I can get out of boots and sweaters, it will be interesting to see if my overall style shifts or if I just integrate these into my "modern tomboy" vibe. I think I have the potential with these pieces to add a little polish to the tomboy, which is perhaps a refinement more than a change ... I am looking forward to seeing what happens.

BTW, thanks for asking this question. In answering it, I think I figured out a few things. This forum is so helpful in that way.

Interesting. I've been happy with my style for a long time. No t that I don't refine and evolve but I'm really happy with the basic look. But I'm having trouble replacing my long jackets. They are a key to how I like to dress. Since it's hard to find them, I'm having to ponder how do I stay true to my aesthetic when I can't get the piece I really need to make it work. That's pretty frustrating.

I wonder if there's a difference between those who have been on YLF for awhile compared to the newer members? My style is definitely changing, partially due to some life changes and partly due to more exposure to a wider range of options. I bet it'll setlle over the next year or so - I have an idea of where I want to be, but it'll still take some time to get there.

Me me!! No changes here and no plan to change. Partly this is the result of having practically no money to spend on clothing, partly it is because I had a wardrobe shakeup last year when I started work FT and those new items have plenty of time to get down to a good CPW and partly because I am not really liking about 98 percent of the new fashions I see coming in!

I feel like Cathy, like I'm refining. No huge changes that I can think of, really. Although I have felt more free to be myself at work since January.

My style feels consistent and comfortable, but not like a rut. It feels like me. I'm open to change but don't feel the need for now.

Actually I feel like I've had a fling with experimentation but I'm settling back into a version of "what I did before"...only this time, I'm armed with knowledge.

I have always preferred pants to skirt and dresses. I'm back to mostly pants these days, but the difference is, I now know how to rock a skirt if I need to or want to. I know what hemlines work, and what shapes, and which shoes and tops work the various kind of skirts. I even know what kinds of belts will work, and where to position them. This skirt knowledge makes me happy, but still, nine days out of ten, I reach for pants. I guess I've made peace with the fact that I prefer to be judged as a man in a woman's body, ha.

Also, I've added a few things to the arsenal, like shirts with collars, and wool sweaters. I've accepted the fact that jewellery and me can only have a limited relationship. And I've experimented with all the shapes of jeans, and found a version of each one that works for me -- although which kind I reach for varies with the spirit of the times, I think. (Right now it's boyfriends, of course).

So yes, I think I'm with you on this -- I'm settling into a comfortable style, and I feel like it's going to be in a holding pattern for quite a while. But especially since joining YLF, I kind of feel like I "get" the -- for lack of a better word -- rules, and can use them to my benefit, rather than just applying the hit-and-miss approach I used before.
