I have several pairs of pointy toed pumps and some ankle strap flats. I like how they make some of my more classic outfits look a little more modern. I have very unfussy feet and haven't had a problem with comfort.

I love the look of pointy-toed shoes, but since I have wide feet I often have to sit it out. Even almond toe doesn't always work for me! Recently I struck it lucky with some pointy-toed booties, which are made of soft leather (yay stretching!) and seem to me like they're wide until the last possible moment before they taper to a point. Wait, I just read a comment above - "equilateral triangle" is the best description for it!

Not I. My foot problems are too severe to even look twice at pointed footwear. Despite the aesthetics, I cringe when I see women wearing them because of how bad they are for your feet and back, even when they seem comfy. But maybe that's sour grapes.

I love pointy toes too if not too extreme. I have 4 pairs and love them all, but the heel is about 3 inches so I can wear the all day. One is Calvin Klein Ashley and the other three are the Michael Michael kors flex fit mid (I think)....I love the look...simple, elegant, modern and retro at the same time!

They don't fit my feet and sizing up is not an option or the shoes are too big allover. So I don't think this is for me! I might be able to do a "less round" look though, I think I prefer more of an almond shape anyway.

I have Ivanka trump eyelet navy heels for dressier occasions and love the sophisticated pointy look. For every day though I admit I'm just wearing Clark's Wendy river sandals every day, I love the comfort and slightly retro look.

Windchime - Almonds toes are comfier and they never go out of fashion. I like them too :)

Gracie - I dislike very round toes and square shaped toes too. But they sure are comfy :). Glad pointy toes work for you. You have killer shoe collection!

Melinda - Those shoes are absolutely beautiful! No wonder you loved them enough to splurge.

MsMary - *Giggling at the triangle reference* but that was smack dang right!! The equilateral triangle ones definitely have more toe wiggle area and look better than the witchy isosceles ones! One could bet you know your shoes well :)

Mander - Fingers crossed the right pair comes your way :)

MsKK- I have been following your shoe woes posts. And it stinks to be in that situation. Glad you are finding ways to tackle the issues :). Your shoe choices are fantastic and really you don't need pointy toes to look gorgeous or trendy. You have a cool edgy factor which will always remain in style :)

DonnaF - Commiserating. My pointy toes are mostly sitting shoes too :(

Joy - Great point about leg lengthening when you don't wear heels. Makes complete sense. I will keep looking out for the perfect pointy toed flats

I'm finding that the right shaped pointy toed shoes are actually very comfortable. The front needs to be wide in the toe area, then come to a point after clearing the toes. Since I can't wear heels, I like the leg lengthening of pointy toes.

Same as MsKK. :( I need a bigger toe box. Moreover, pointy toed shoes tend to have flexible soles, and with my hallux rigidus my feet just don't flex. Ouch! Love the look, however. And I DO wear my rather pointy toed pumps at work when I know I'll be sitting all day since they are sitting shoes and I have a hard time keeping them on due to narrow heels.

I'm embracing pointy toes. I've replaced many of my round-toed pumps with pointies and I found it gave my whole look a real boost. It seems like the latest iteration of pointy toed shoes are much more of an equilateral triangle look, rather than the witchy isosceles triangles of the last time around, which fits my wide-at-the-toes feet much better!

I've got size 11 feet and pointy toes always make me feel like a witch. plus they really crush my toes. so in general I'll be sitting this out.
Ballet flats mostly are a no go for me, because they always gap at the arch. I am not sure if that means I am a high or low volume foot. Tieks works really well for me as do most low heeled open toed shoes (I think that makes me high volume). Fortunately in SF I can wear open toed shoes most of the time, with a few pairs of boots for rainy days.

Almonds, not points, for me. I can't get my toes into pointy toes in my size, and if I size up, I feel self- conscious about how long my feet look. In the meantime, I'm loving almond toes!

Not me! I love pointy toes and even though I have widish feet I can find them to fit. I especially like my heeled booties with pointy toes. I did size up a half size in most of them. Oddly, I sized down a half size in a pair of pointy pumps I recently bought. I think I only have one pair of pointy flats and they are comfortable enough, I just don't wear as many flat shoes in general.

Suz - Your okalas look lovely on you. And fingers crossed you find your perfect low heeled pointy toes!

April - You will have lot of company for this one I suspect

Laura - The super pointy ones look weird I agree! And sizing up does help with the comfort, isn't it?

Shedev - Good point. I haven't come across stompy pointy toes yet.

I love the look of them when they are not too exaggerated. And I don't mind wearing them, either. But fit is crucial and not always easy to get right.

I don't wear true flats (regardless of toe shape) because they won't stay on my feet, alas. I would actually love a pair of flat or very low wedge pointy toes. On the lookout for something that might work.

I'm sitting them out. I'm much more of a stompy boots than dainty shoe type. I got way too spoiled by all the wiggle room my toes get. Closest I'll come is an almond toe.

Lisap - That's an interesting point. I never thought of how heels can make pointy toed shoes more proportionate. Nice eye :)

Alasse - Yay for round toes! They are very comfortable too.

Amiable - I find almond toes to be much more comfortable. At least the toe box has some wiggle room.

Clearlyclaire - *sobbing with you* the shoes you purged are too cute I wish they were as comfortable!

Viva - High five. I think the okalas would work well for you and a smashing addition to your killer shoe collection. Fingers crossed!

Rabbit - I had an aha moment with your post. Higher vamp ... Hmmm. I think it could solve my pointy toed shoe woes. The ballet flats have a very low vamp and I feel like I would sprout a bunion in them (Thank you Claire for the phrase! It hit a chord with me!). Higher vamps might make this whole situation a lot better. You have fantastic eye for detail and analytical skills rabbit!
