As far as genre I would like to see a variety. Perhaps start with a style advice book, then move to a personality/biography, then maybe a history or focus on a certain era. And would love to do movies as well. Again alternating between documentary/history and fiction. Ooh, how about the occasional double feature? Perhaps comparing the original version of The Women with the remake. Perhaps we can compile a Book Club calendar before we officially start things off. Say an overview of the titles we'll be talking about for the next 4 months or so. My only qualm would be getting the books in time for an affordable price. Some of the newer style and fashion books can run 15 bucks a pop which is more than some of us can afford to spend every month without the opportunity to find them elsewhere. My local libraries don't buy them and we don't have a good used book source. Of course, I would prefer to purchase from YLF books -- but that is probably 100 dollars or more to find each year. I would have to order all the books online and sometimes it can take 2+ weeks to get mail here.
