Another Fluevog lover here! I own four pairs of them.

I agree that you really need to try them on for sizing. Once you know your size in one family, you can usually extrapolate your size for other shoes in the same family. Not all Fluevog shoes work for my feet but the ones that do work are amazing.

Yep, I agree that their sizing is all over the map. I have quite a few pairs, and they range in size from a 5 to a 7. Yikes! I would probably not buy them online for this reason. I've heard the sales staff can be quite helpful, however; if you talk to them on the phone about your own foot quirks, they can point you in the right direction, or help you get the right size.

One thing that's worth noting: the company purposely makes their various styles in different widths etc to fit different shapes of feet and legs. So, for example, there are a few styles that are intentionally made to be narrow in the calf, so those are good for people who have trouble with boots always looking like galoshes on them. Or, if you've got short, wide feet, they have some styles that have a big, roomy toe-box. Again, the sales assistants can tell you what will work with your feet and legs.

Another knee-high style that works with all size calves is this one:

http://www.fluevog.com/code/?w.....ourID=2145

...because you can adjust the calf sizing with the laces. Not everyone loves the chunky sole and spool-shaped heel, though. But I think they're cool -- and fun and arty, which is what you said you were looking for.

I love them and in fact these are on my wish list...
Like Melissa, I find the comfort hit or miss (but the comfy ones are VERY comfy! plus I have fussy feet...) and the sizing to be inconsistent, and i actually think the tall boots tend to be quite narrow in the calf (too much so for me, hence I dont' own any, even though I love boots and I love fluevogs) so they might work for you.

Also, I think Fluevog usually has a sale in July...

Those are gorgeous. I do own several pairs of Fluevogs, and the pairs that fit me correctly are some of my very favorite shoes. But, I do find that their comfort and sizing is all over the map, so trying on is a must for me.

I suspect I will grow into the kind of woman whose style is too "classic" to accomodate Fluevogs. In the meantime, I will simply need to love my Viardots harder :).

They are by far the most comfortable pumps I have ever worn, and since I can name every pump I've ever owned, that's not hyperbole!

Jean, I'm a total Fluevog fan and own several pairs. These boots are so you. Overall I find Fluevogs surprisingly comfortable, eccentric, and super stylish.

Yes, yes, yes! These would look FAB on you.

I have only owned one pair of Fluevogs, and they have long since seen shoe Heaven. They were wonderfully comfortable, suede ankle boots that I got at Nordstrom in the early 90's. I wore them until they literally fell apart.

I look forward to owning another pair some day.

Me me me! All my favourite pairs of shoes and boots are Fluevogs. I don't have those ones, but they are sure cute. If you've got a skinny calf, though, and you want a knee-high boot, these ones are fantastic:

http://www.fluevog.com/code/?w.....ourID=2930

I don't own those either, but I've tried them on. I've got very small calves, and they were even a bit snug on me. But they look amazing! And I do own a different pair of boots and two pairs of shoes from that "shoe family" (Bellevues) and they are ridiculously comfortable for a skinny-ish heel. You can wear them all day.

Come to think of it, if you have any questions about fit etc of the various Fluevog styles, I might be able to answer you. I've tried on half the shoes in the store.

As I posted elsewhere, I don't own any - yet! But I have tried a few on and love them. That style you linked is gorgeous, I love the Victorian (?) inspired shape. The open lacing will look amazing over tights.

I am contemplating investing in a pair of boots. I think that I could use a very arty boot that I can walk in. I ordered these:
http://www.endless.com/John-Fl....._25?ie=UTF

I love them but they are a bit too loose in the ankle as most things are. I am not sure that it makes a difference. What do you think of them? Since summer is not my dominant season, I am done with summer shoes and am looking to the fall and winter. These would be great with tights. Maybe I should wait for a knee high pair but the skinny calf issue is always a problem. Are Fluevogs a good look for me?
