Love the white with neutral accents! You've kept the silhouette fun and modern. As for flattery --- I find a good BB cream -- creating a creamier look to my skin -- is quite helpful when wearing colors that aren't my "best."

What would the red pants look like rolled once or twice? Love the all red look -- July 4th is a day to dress for casual fun. You handled the rain beautifully!

Nice raincoat! The whiteout outfits look fab. When wearing an unflattering color next to my skin, I focus more on what's going on with my make-up and make sure that looks good. I'll add a scarf or blazer if it makes the outfit look better.

Thank you, ladies!
Suz, I think you look fab in white, just like Angie does. It does seem that a small amount of another color helps.
Angie, thanks for chiming in. I think for me the bit of contrast needs to be flattering since the white is not. I think we are opposites in that respect. Thanks for the comment about the hats. I love that style but I need to find some others.
Jackiec, I will try it with some lip gloss the next time. That should make things come together easier.

I think you look great!!! I also put on a dab of blush or make sure I have a brighter lip gloss on as well if I'm in a not-too-flattering colour.

You are adorable in your white-out outfit. You wear hats really well.

I generally wear a less flattering colour with white, and add more blush and brighter lipstick.

The raincoat is fun!! And from what I can tell, you look great in the white-out! Like Joy, I have to watch my tones of white -- I am better in a soft or winter white vs. optic white but can wear optic white in summer (when I always get a bit of colour in my face) and also in small doses in winter (i.e. as a layer). Texture can also make a difference, as others have said.

Thank you for the kind words, ladies.
The raincoat has been very useful while still being stylish. It has a little ruffle which I think is probably on the way out but it still holds its own.
Joy, I think you wear white in a brilliant way. I will keep your advice in mind as a sheer or nubby off-white may work for me too.
Tanya and Jeanie, I will see how it works with some lipstick. I generally only wear light make-up with brow pencil, eyeliner and compact make-up.
I will add some lipstick some times and see how it goes.

Love your whiteout outfit! Super cool. I find cream better than pure white on me but sometimes you just want to wear white. I agree with Tanya on just trying a brighter lipstick.

That is fine raincoat! Love the whiteout outfit, very chic. When wearing less-than-flattering color next to my face, I go for either a scarf in a flattering color or slighly more stronger and vivid lip color and blush.

You look adorable in your red rain outfit. I really like the white out on you. You found one way to make it work when you added the purple. There are so many shades of white, so it might be finding the right one. I look much better in a linen white than either optic white or ivory, but can wear them with the right makeup. I go darker with it when wearing white next to my face. You might try a sheer white rather than a solid one, nubby texture rather than shiny , a top with narrow stripes on white, eyelet, lace. You may find that a white works if it absorbs some light with texture or sheer/open weave.

Hi all, just sharing a few WIWs.
The second and third are with the new WTC building in the background. I did not think I could wear white close to my face but it seems that the purple top under the white helped a lot.
The first picture is what became of my July 4th outfit... I had to switch my red skirt for red pants and get my raincoat on. Not fancy at all and probably not the best but it goes with the keeping it real topics. The other two are the whiteout pictures
Do you have tips for taming a color that is generally not good next to your skin but you were able to make it work? Please share.
Thanks for looking.
